Latest build update, got the Radiator and e-fan installed with lots of pics.

the aluminum radiator I purchased from E-Bay, got the link from Malteserunner. looks pretty nice and weighted alot less than the oem.

this is the drain valve that was on it when it came.

Here is the taurus fan I picked from the local wrecking yard, its from a 90s era taurus, this is a 2 speed but I will only be using the high speed.

Here is the Fan control, I purchased this from DC Controls online web site is dccontrols.com. its a little pricey but its solid state instead of the mechanical relays. and its a soft start variable to reduce the initial load of the startup.

Made in the USA!!!

the kit with the Instructions. came with good quality stuff. A fusable link for the 12v connection.

Insert the temp prob in the fins in the location recommended in the instructions. I put some heat transfer paste on it to help.

I put some foam tape around the edges where the fan is going to mount to protect the radiator.

one end of the fan fit under tabs that were on the radiator then it was bolted on the opposite side.

Bolted on the opposite side.

Removed the fan and put some washers in to take the space.

Radiator installed in the rig, getting closer.

Here is the clearance that i have when its in the rig.

Installed a new fuse box for extra things I want to install, have the aux lights on there as well as my sub amp and the 12v jacks to run the compressor.

Mounted the fan control on the fender and wired it all in, I also cleaned up some other wiring that i had done before.

Finally in and all done, put the intake tube back and filled her up, ran it till it heated up, the gauge doesnt go past half, need to get a better more acurate gauge to really see what its doing, but its alot quieter and it does rev a little faster without that fan lugging it down. I am very happy with the mod.

There are too many pics and I don't want to clutter your build thread with all of them. The Bald Mountain thread is here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f100...thread-223880/

Sweet, you can hear where I lost the hitch cover. thanks for the videos. I will put my pics in the trip thread after work. My truck suprised me by how well it did in the snow. it went up most of the hills and stuff no problem except for onw where we all had to be winched up. lots of fun, looking forward to another trip, we gotta get chef on one with us.

Axle build started

Its been a While since I have done anything to my runner but I have been collecting parts to do a SAS. Thanks to Mountain Cop and Dbcfr I have decided thats the way to go. I put the housing on the work bench yesterday and started prepping it for reinforcment. I cut off the bump stops and shock mounts, did lots of grinding to smooth everything. so here are a couple of pics of the progress.

here is the housing in its Glory!!!

There is All the Armore that will soon adorn the housing. its all TG items . i put a rust inhibiting paint similair to por15 on the underside of items that i will be welding on and on the housing where the armor will cover.

Last on for now. this is the housing after paint hopefully tommorrow i will start welding on the armor.

Heh man looking good word of advice I learned the hard way ... Check ur knuckleball clearances with the knuckle most everyone that has ran them has had to grind them back a little to get full turning radius... Just figured I might save ya some pita time down the road when your knee deep in the swap
