Haha, I know it! I'll keep an eye out for one.... And chef your right they are very accurate on the altitude meter. Its cool when you pass an altitude sign in the mountains and you look down at your inclinometer and it's almost the exact same altitude being displayed.

Hey, I'm not sure if it's helpful, but I can give you a number to a guy that I get all my stuff from. He's a bit pricey at times, but on other things, it's strange, they seem less? Anyway, I'm sure he would ship if you can't find one and he ends up having one. Some things are just hard to find, like the kick panels in the bed area for the jack, etc. The other longer panels, DIME A DOZEN, lol. Head rests, too. Consoles don't seem to be easy to come by either(I'm talking about the SR5 of course).
I agree, btw, loving following your progress, Cougar!

Thanks for the link Chef!! those are a bit too pricey for me right now. I can live with out it till i come across one for cheap. I picked up a small compressor from HF today for 20 bucks after my 20% off coupon. its high volume plugs into the cig socket. I aired down to 15 and it took about 6 mins to get it back to 35. not too bad for that little guy, I may get another one so I can do both sides at the same time. also piced up a couple of aux power sockets to install the socket in the dash doesnt work but i will hook it up later. here are a few more pics from last weekend!

Sweet! ... WAIT, ...NO SKID? hahaha. Jk,...but really, is it there and I'm just seeing things? I've gone through 2 in the last 8 years....SAVED my under-go-go! lol.

Sure you could make one... but I THINK that the louvers do help in forcing cool air on the pan, etc., when driving down the highway. I notice lots of the aftermarket ones don't have any venting. Curious about that.
Anyway, they're available out there, Cougar... usually for pretty cheap.

Dang Chef you got links to everything!!!
I will keep an eye out at the local yards. I cant spend much more right now, I think i hit my limit. My b-day is this month and I already got all my gifts!!
I hope work picks up so I can get some more stuff.

Looks fantastic - and cool video
For the lights - did you think about going LED? Do you have any "dark spots" with the new bulbs or is it all bright across the board at night? I have intermittent dark spots on mine that drive me nuts.
When taking out the cluster, how do you remove the speedo cable? Just pull till it comes off? Twist and pull? I've *almost* taken mine out but always got cold feet when it came to the speedo cable

Love your 4Runner! Where'd ya find the SR5 speedometer?

Phil- to get the speedo cable off just reach behind and feel for the little tab on it and squeeze it down kinda like some of the electrical connections. mine just slid right off. I think the dark spots are from old bulbs, and they used green covers over the bulbs too make them even dimmer. with the new lamps it is very bright and uniform. it only takes a few minutes to get the cluster out. You can do ittt!!!
86 toy- thanks, my bud found the cluster at the local wrecking yard and snagged it up for me. just gotta keep an eye out.

thanks! that sounds pretty easy and I look forward to checking it out - I'll post of pics when I do it too
Can you share how many and which size bulbs you ended up getting? Did you just go to a parts store and pick them up?
I like the orange - BMW uses that and it's WAY easier on the eyes at night than other colors!

Piece of Cake, Phil! ....Or cookies and milk if you prefer!
lol. Seriously, 20 minutes to take out and put back in with my new oil pressure and temperature gauge section installed off the donor cluster. CAKE!
PS> on the LED? I've read someone saying they used wide angle LED's, ...they span a range just like a regular bulb and are far brighter, and offer cool colors like that blue in the tacomas, etc. Anyway, just wondering if that's true... the wide angle LED thingymajigger!

PS> I wouldn't do it, .... the cost factor. Just curious. Also, those long life bulbs last what, ....25+ years most often????? lol. Mine all still work, original... Pretty high quality from the factory I suppose.
