Hahahah... was that his boy laughing in the truck? lol

Cool vid, and yeah, ... I hear ya on the lockers, but ....CREEEEEEEEP brudda! lol. I used to have my bro hop from one side to the other on certain things and he got good at knowing which side to be on for the coming ditches, etc! hahahaha.

Looks nice, Eric! PS> The kids got a cool laugh if that's him! lol

thats a awsome vid, thanks mike. I can hear you laughing!!! on the video it sure doesnt look as bad as it seemed when we were there. but now you can see if I had lockers that probably would have been no problem. I want a copy on CD.

I turned it up a bit and yea that was my SON.. he thought it was soooo funny, he had a great time we are going again this weekend with the scouts. now i know what I am in for so i will be ready!!! i did find that if i left the clutch alone and just tried to idle it over most of the stuff with a little gas to keep it from stalling it worked the best. i was gettin frustrated there so gave it more gas. glad nothing broke. some 4.70 tcase gears and lockers and i should be set. some sliders are on the list also. there was a couple of spots where we were inches from rubbing on trees and rocks. overall it was fun though, hope we can setup a trip with more yotas. my son wants to get some more laughs!!!

Get together, where? lol... Have fun, guys! PS> .... You're going 4.70's with 31's? Just curious, cuz I've had most of the 'gear' guys tell me 4.56 was perfect for 31's. ... those on sale too? Hehehe... I'll check em out. Gotta get a deal like Swimmerboy, .... 250 for both 4.56 cases! .... i KNOW, EH? LOL.

Dang, I miss having a wheeling buddy.... I'll have to stop by if I do my loop of Cali soon.

Ttyl8r guys,

Mark

PS> As far as the IFS - SAS talk you were having... Just head to Mammoth to the Hot Creek Road back to the springs, ... it's a few miles, most people doing like 60 or so.... MUCH nicer in the IFS on that and the Owens Dry Lake Surrounding roads that go up into the abandoned mines. I've had both. I'd love to have a SA 85 or something, ...but for my use, it's more practical, lol....(BTW>>> GRRRRRRR, THEY BLEW UP OUR BARELY 100' BORED MINE!--- It was up in the black hills(High Sierras) behind-South of the Owens Dry lake 1 mile..... Stupid Govt. Project to provide a job to some guy.. and it was a Solid Marble Mine with no weakness, 100 ft. deep, max, ONLY 12' MAX of overhead mountain!... FULLY reinforced by me and some friends(12x12's and 4x4's, WITH FULL kitchen, bench seats and shelving! SO TICKED!) They even blew the narrow pass-road into the wash so it's IMPOSSIBLE to get back there, without a UNIMOG or something!.... Gotta love that "Big Brother In the Wilderness" stuff here in CA, eh?...Sorry for the random tangent, hahahaa. Just so sick of 'THEM' messing with the wilderness, while claiming, "We're saving the environment"... RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT! lol.. Real quick..... It reminds me of Al Gore spouting off all his nonsense, then finding out he was responsible for ALL the mining in the Angeles Crest, .... a deal he had with the UN for mining gold up there. Cruise it sometime if you're down here, Eric, ..... TAILINGS ALL OVER the place! Unfinished degradation of MY MOUNTAINS! Grrrr! lolol.

The 4.70 were are talking about are for the transfer case. The 4.56's are for your third members.

So I guess you found it? Haha. Do you have the sr5 oil pressure sender? If you don't have it there is a chance you could ruin the oil pressure gauge when you power up the truck. And you might also have to run your own wire from the ignition coil to the gauge cluster for the tach. However some trucks already had the wire in the harness, so it might not be needed. I had to run one for my truck.

Hey mike, Yea I found it where you said!! this turned out to be a little more than I wanted to spend but i guess its a good mod. between the cluster-42.00, bulbs-32.00, oil sending unit-32.00 its over a 100 for the mod but it looks good and i have a tach now.
First I had to take it apart and set the odometer to the same milage that mine is. that is 342167 thats alot of miles. then i put it back in after I cleaned the gauges a bit and polished the clear with a fine polish tho clean it up a bit. here is the cluster ready to get new bulbs.

these are the new Amber color bulbs I put in to make it orange color.

Once all that was in i took apart the dash.

Time to put in the new cluster, everthing just plugged right in, tach wire is already there

Here is a pic of the lights on.

Next I hooked up the sending unit, took out the old unit with a 26mm socket and put in the new one with a 9/16 wrench.

Everything is working ok so far.

Well thats it for now, next mod wont be till i get my fan control in a week or 2. this truck is becoming very pricy!

Hahahaha. that's a GOOD DEAL THO, Cougar! Most of those gauges go for 100$ or so, alone. Plus, they're not always easy to come by, I hear, lol. NICE WORK, looks great! Piece of cake job, aint it? lol.

Enjoy!
