Have you considered your pinion angle? now's a good time to turn the nuckels if you need to, I wish I had.

Yeah you can cut off the steering stabilizer brackets off the axel, if you decide to run a stabilizer most people weld tabs to the frame. I planned on running one when I first sas'ed mine, but after driving it didn't think it was needed. Does your Allpro springs come with a 3/8" pad? I had to make my own, I think I welded a 1/4" plate to the driver side spring perch when I did mine, it turned out level.

Nice progress on the axel tear down! Are you going to use your ifs wheel hubs and up grade the brakes, or use wheel spacers?

Yes you need the spring pad.
The drivers side perch is 3/8" lower than the passenger side.

Im undecided, i thought i use my ifs hubs or upgrade the brakes rather than the spacers.

Ifs hub swap is easy peasy. You can also weld 3/8 plate to the drivers perch to bring it up, which is a great time to extend the perches.

It's not always necessary, but with 5" of lift up front even a high angle driveshaft can have problems. shiming the plates works to a point untill your caster bearings get flat. If you don't care about your caster bearing angles then shim away but in my experience it gets a bit sketchy after like 10 degrees. You have to shim a lot for there to be an issue with your steering linkages but it's possible.

If you're shimming alot I would advise you make them out of steel and weld them in place, the aluminum pre made ones can pop out.

The nuckle turning isn't terribly hard if your good with a grinder you just have to be carefull, then if you shim your perches the caster bearings are back to normal, or you can cut and rotate the perches and use no shims.

It's alot of work and some might say uneccessary but I think many would argee it's the best way to get the pinion where youw want it with more or less no cost but time.

I didnt' bother putting the stabaliser on either.

my front spring hangar...tryin to figure out what kind it is...The shackle bolts are threaded to where the threads will rub on the bushings, which isnt good, Gizler told mr thats a trait of trail gear...

Had to help my bro get his cylinder head off tonight and it was parent teacher conference and my boy is doin great!!!YAY!!!But i didnt get as far as i wanted. It looks as if the PO of the front axle didnt ever change the axle grease...very broke down and dirty but the ring and pinion look to be well so i hope theyre ok.

By the way this is a little off topic, but not justifiable yet to start a engine swap thread.... I am debating on tbi, cpi,or sfi 4.3 swap for i have the adapter and clutch setup... I was wanting to do cpi but have fell upon a 2000ish?? safari awd van that i know runs (it has a balljoint out)and i beleive i could pick it up for a reasonable price...however i know the sfi engine is more wiring and obd 2 compared to the cpi .Is itt worth it if i could pick the entire van up for like $500??
