I can move one page from one thread to another but am not comfortable with moving 12 pages. Which would you rather have? A new build thread or keep it all together in one thread. I would personally like to see it all together in the 86-95 build section. Your build is the only I follow in the SAS section and don't make it to this section as often as I would like. You being an active member, you wouldn't have any problems creating another build thread if you would like. If you want to keep it all together, I will ask dropzone or DeathCougar to move the complete thread.

I think I would rather have it on the 86-95 section. The trucks a 87,and there is a lot more action to come!

I think I'm going with the Tacoma brakes, seems easier to disassemble and user friendly.

I think I will eventually go that route myself when my current rotors need replaced. I want to upgrade the calipers and get a 1" bore master cylinder too, and do a rear disc brake conversion...then of course I'll need a T-case e-brake kit......the never ending list of upgrades, lol.

I had a set of 33x10.50 Thornbirds about 15 yrs ago on my CJ5 (yep I owned a Heep, don't hate, lol) the only thing I didn't like was the tread lugs didnt self clean very well. They got packed with mud so bad that I was sliding sideways and down hill towards a steep motorcycle hillclimb, thought for sure I was going to roll it, I think the only thing that saved me was I shut the engine off while in gear and just let it slide to a stop. My brother had to pull me up with...wait for it..........

his 79' Toyota 4x4, ha, ha.

I'm not trying to bad mouth the Thornbirds, I like the aggressive side walls lugs on them, just thought I'd relate my experience with them, can't remember what tires my brother was running on the Toyota back then, but he didn't seem to have any problems on the same terrian.

Thanks for the advice Ed,I guess I've never owned any,I just like the way they look.maybe I'll do some more research on tires.I haven't got that far on the project anyways.talked to Brian at front range off road and I asked him what years the Tacoma brake kit for my straigtaxle and he said like 96 -01,and 4runners are a little different so I'll have to go with the truck brakes,hence....Tacoma brake kit, makes sense.

I also have never owned Thornbirds, but I've read various articles that bash them and I know they won FourWheeler magazine's "worst tire ever" award. The tires I've had the best luck with are Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's and MT/R's. I've owned 2 sets of each on various trucks. They're quiet, get good traction, and lasted longer than any other tires I've had with an all/mud terrain pattern. Discounttiredirect has them cheapest. That's my .02

Good info here.

That's a good site to get tires from. I have bought 5 sets of tires from there in the last few years.
