Sweet, one step closer to some flex pics!

How's the engine swap coming, are you still collecting parts for the swap?

The Jimmy's still waiting to be dismantled for the CPI 4.3,I'll be using the fuel system, dunno what I'm using for a fuel tank yet....then the wiring also for the engine will be used.I have a advance adapter bell housing to mate the trans and engine with a center force gold clutch and the flywheel too all from advance, then the slave cylinder is a fj40,then I still need the pilot bearing and possibly the throwout bearing. I'm going to try and keep the engine as stock as possible and the exhaust to.

By the way,any opinions on just keeping this build here,or start a new one on the 86-95build?I didn't want to start a new one if it was against the rules or any craplike that.

You almost got your SAS done, I vote to start a new build on the 86-95' forum since you're doing a engine swap and it will be an on going build, not just a sas.....I don't think they have any rules against that.

I'd move it to the build thread forum. That's where I have my 4.3 swap and sas.

I'm running all pro 4s up front and with the shackles and spring hanger should add some too, honestly I have no idea, maybe 4,5 inches in the front,I want to run 35inch tires, and after the 4.3 goes in it will drop some too.

Right now I'm getting ready to put the its hubs and the brakes.probably go with the vented fj rotors, cheap as possible.you know me...

Anyone know what year of Fj. Rotors you use for running them on the its hub???I've been researching and everyone talks about the FM rotor but never specifies on the year or a part number.I remember on chefs thread when he did his he was very detailed but I can't find it.dangit.

I used 85' landcruiser slotted rotors. I had to drill the ifs wheel hub bolt pattern in them. They were $50 for the pair at Oreilly's

So I knock out the stock studs on the its hub and drill them out for biggest studs for the land cruiser rotors???what studs do I use and what size bit for t holes???maybe I can research some more on this idea,I hate asking questions when research can solve the problem!!I'm pretty stoked to get these hubs and brakes done, then it will at least roll around again. Thanks a lot for the info Ed.

I'm in a similar boat but I'm using rotors from a 97 tacoma. Our factory rotors bolt on rather than float like the newer trucks so u have to drill out the rotors so they can be bolted on. My plan is to set one of my old rotors on and use it as a template to drill the new holes. I'm also using ifs hubs. Factory sfa hubs have 6 bolts holding the rotors on whereas ifs hubs only have 2. Hope this helps instead of adding confusion. I got most of my info from a thread here on yotatech. I can try to post up a link if u like.

Hey Chris, you dont have to knock out any studs, they just bolt up to your ifs wheel hub like your stock ifs rotors did, the only difference is the LC rotors dont have the correct bolt pattern, thats why you have to drill the holes. Here's a link to the thread that I used when I did my rotors, hope this helps!

^^^heres a link to my build, post #84 there's a few pics.

If your going to do taco rotors the process is a little different, you have to do some grinding so the taco rotors will slip over the ifs wheel hubs, and that's when you need longer studs, rattlewagon has a really good write up on his build thread, here's a link: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...3/index17.html
