Thanks Chef.

Forgot to mention that my antenna broke off and I lost that same black plastic piece again! sucks.... I need to not only find a new one now but also figure out how I'm going to solve this issue.

You're definitely gonna be ahead of me in mods by the time this summer ends, and enjoyed your rig more. I haven't even seen mine for 3 weeks now. I forget, and I'm being too lazy, but did your Runner have the stock roof rack, or is that a totally manufactured rack and basket? Looking good, and keep enjoying the outdoors safely, I don't wanna fly over your Runner after it's all burned up in a wildfire!

The angled plastic piece that makes the mounting 'flush'? The part that is right near the body?(Probably different on mine... but mine DOES have that angled plastic piece... Couldn't really get the aftermarket power antenna I got to work with IT'S stuff.... so I had to use that and the original toyota guide/bolt-sert thing.)

Best wishes on that... that lil stuff can BUG! I installed my amp and JL 10" today... THUMP'N! hehe.

It amazes me how much I've done to the rig sometimes. It's like just yesterday It was naked sitting on 31's! Now it's locked, lifted, 33's and I'm looking at this long list of "future mods" that I cant afford! haha 3 weeks is way too long! It's a stock rack I got at a junkyard for $15. Post number 122. The basket is a Load Warrior by Yakima. It also has a Load Warrior Extension because It was pretty short by itself. I've Stood on that thing while it was fully loaded without an issue. I love it.

Yeah its in front of the drivers side rear. So ugly with it missing!!!!!!

I should have specified...I meant CB antenna. all I gotta do Is purchase another and screw it on no big deal. I think it got weak from folding it into the basket. I just hate it bouncing around everywhere...even with the super stiff spring!

And yes...that missing plastic piece is a huge pain! Such an eye sore and I don't have the slightest idea of what to do with it.

Hey, have you tried tying it off a LIL instead of all the way to the basket? Just 'taught'.... not tight or even bent over. It would still whip toward the cage, but not outward, preventing it's allowance to 'reallllly whip' back and forth and generate 'whipage' hahaha. Sorry, you know what I mean I hope. Even better would be to get a limiter, like I used on my 70 Blazer. It's basically something that acts like a Hi-lift handle holder.... Just keeps it from moving either way. GOTTA be a way to do that, Roni.... Mine was actually made for that, and I have no idea where he got it.... But it looked like a poly stick with a lil rubber hoop that fit tight on the antenna side and basically a velcro strap on the other/Stiff in the middle, stopping it from moving either way.

I know what your talking about...I saw a Jeep with something like that at Butcher. Funny cause I pointed it out to Katie saying it was a good idea. I'll fab somethin up I'm sure.

So the truck didn't start yesterday...gave it a jump...drove it...didn't start today. Just what I need. So after testing voltage output I'm pretty sure it's my alternator. So I call Toyota and apparently there's 2 diff. types for the 4 cyl. ..60amp-$240.00 and 70amp-$680.00!!! Man worst timing for this. Maybe I can get a rebuilt one for cheaper?idk...I'm SSOOO close to getting the Legacy running and registered!!! Can't wait to stop pavement pounding in my trail rig!!!!

Hey Man.... Not sure, as they change purveyors at times, etc... But I got a "Premium" Alternator with all Denso Replacement Parts at Napa.... Was over 100$ a bit.... but lifetime, etc., etc. I've also heard you can get an MR2 110A Alternator for pretty reasonable and it's not a HUGE mod. Think I even saw a 140A Jaguar Alternator thingy that bolts right up.. you just have to change out the pulleys, putting your original one on there. And it's no exchange, so no worry about Core, etc. LOTS of good info out here on that one.... ON HERE, I mean, hahaha.... At least give Napa a call.... maybe they can tell you if they have that "better" version one still. They're almost all privately owned now, so not sure what they'll have at the ones in AZ, but worth a call, right?

Might check some other sellers on here, as well, right? 13% off at WABFAB this Friday????(don't think the have alternators, but anyway, you know what I mean? hahaha) Other ones like that....

Yeah, I know what you mean on realizing just how much you've done. You should post a pic of exactly how you got it, and take the same pic, same angle, same place, but as it sits now. Or after you get your fender corner thing replaced...whatever. Thanks for going over the rack info again for me, I'll have to start looking into that. Gonna get a rear Marlin bumper first, though.

And yes, not to brag but I do have an awesome job. Minimal education and training required and I get paid to ride in a helicopter! What more could you ask? Then I get to play with fire! Haven't looked at the fire situation in your area lately, but I hope it's better now and doesn't end up closing off more trails and land.

Rockauto and Amazon both have a Denso for about $145 w/ free shipping at Amazon.
A fun little Denso look-up tool: http://www.densoaftermarket.com/catalog/index.php

Notice and power gains from the heards and exhaust? I want to do the same as my winter project. I have loads of projects to do this winter, I'm buying yet another parts rig. This one is a 2nd Gen 22RE.

I want it for the rust free frame and body panles. The PO LOVED this thing, shame it ended up i the wrecker yard over a minor fender bender.

Noticing power gains on a 2nd gen. 22re 4runner is pretty expensive I must say! I did notice a gain in power but it's not a HUGE difference. Did I notice the power gain?..yes... is it big power?..not at all...did I get improved throttle responce, improved gas mileage, and a cool exhaust sound. yes

Must be nice to have a 2nd gen 22re parts rig!!!!!

I'm giving the 22re stuff away to my good buddy who has taught me so much. He has been involved in every step of my build.

He's a bloody champion.

Woo been a while...

Not much to update...Got a new CB antenna along with an SWR meter. Learned how to tune it myself and it's working perfect! Ordered a TRD shift knob. I'm pretty sure my old "TRD" shift knob was a "knock-off". The stitching just came apart and all that's left is the plastic that was under the leather. It was 20 bucks and it lasted a couple years...this time I'm sure its genuine and it wasn't 20 bucks either.

Went camping for Labor day weekend and had a blast with the GF. It was our first time at Bear Canyon Lake and due to the popularity of that place it will prob. be our last. Too many people...most of which where irresponsible party animals! As soon as the sun goes down there's loud music, gun shots, atv's flying by....I couldn't even walk 10 feet away from my camp without finding a nice turd with some TP on it. People man.....luckily most of the partying was happening on the other side of the lake. Aside from the people the area is nice. I totally trashed my reverse gear just trying to park the rig.

No more reverse.....

It was actually stuck in reverse for a while....haven't used reverse since. So now I have a Suby that still needs head gaskets and a Yota that needs a transmission .....then maybe next year it will be vise-versa huh?

Well anyway here is a few pics and a little slide show of the trip....It got blocked in U.S on youtube at first because of the song I used. I used my inner lawyer skills, disputed the block and won!

Nice photos. I love camping. I too went to a disgusting camping spot a couple weeks back. Turds and TP everywhere. I had fun catching up with friends bit never that spot again.
