I used the 10mm thicker flywheel from mcleod and the centreforce clutch advance adaptors recommend for the bellhousing. I did opt for a heavier pressure plate because the ls will most likely make a bit more than a sbc

Did you use centerforce pressure plate?

Sorry forgot to mention that part. Its a mcleod centre for the conversion and a centreforce sbc pressure plate. I'm not sure whether it would be possible to mill the bellhousing down a bit and use the ls clutch and flywheel with an internal slave cylinder like in the t56

Is it the popping and backfiring on the deceleration that's telling you there's a vacuum leak? Sounds really great otherwise...in my normal daily driving I'd probably never know unless there is a rough idle issue etc.

Actually, funny story, I found the vaccuum leak while looking up ways to route the steam vents. I somehow neglected to plug the small hvac port at the back of the intake. It loads up pretty bad at idle though.

New set of injectors exactly like what were in it with the truck intake are on the way.

Hopefully...finally....it will be running right next week then I can proceed with putting the front end back together.

Just in case anybody was wondering what was going on in the project downtime

Many thanks.

Small update, I dropped off all my front end pieces at the sandblaster today. Hopefully I will get them back pretty soon.

beautiful. This is ridiculous, sending this to my chevy-enthusiast friend right now, he'll probably want me to do this to my car as well.

It's finally coming together.

My parts are back from the sandblaster and the fuel lines are done. Also finally got my clutch line hooked up and bled down.

I'll try to post up some more pictures later.

Well, house remodeling slowed me down a bit but I'm getting back to work on the truck.
Hurst shifter installed...feels about like my 6 speed now.

Getting my calipers re-powdercoated

I was terribly dissatisfied with them which was only made worse by the time it took. I'm having them done locally now.

Edge cs2 monitor I got to replace bully dog

Finally....FINALLY painted my arms

Took my driveshafts in to be worked on, they said they couldn't do anything with the front one so only having rear shortened. I'm going to pick it up Friday

That's it for now.

From your picture, I would have expected custom shafts. The certainly, nothing there to work with. The rear is probably too short for the front section.

But I'm glad you are making progress, that is a tight fit. Kudo's on getting this done!

Dude, this build is awesome!!! I'm about to delve into something similar but I'm planning on going with a Gen III small block. Mine with be 2WD with the end purpose being a dragster with a license plate and a big bottle of nitrous. I'm definitely going to keep watching this though. Very cool with everything you've done. I started a thread for my build, but it'll be a while before I start posting pics, and a much longer while before there's any videos of it running. I've got to get my stepson something else to drive first, but that's in the works. Seems like most of what I've found in the forums are 4WD guys doing these types of swaps, so hopefully I'll be able to help out any 2WD guys later on. I plan on some heavy suspension mods with my build along the way as well since I'm shooting for 9 seconds in the quarter.

Either way, kudos to you dude, I love it. Any advice you have for me, I'll gladly take it.
