Tranny

I know this is from awhile back but I’m in the process of doing the same swap and wanted to know if you have any pictures of how you remounted the tranny on the crossmember and what you had to trim to be able to shift through all the gears and use 4wd

The engine mounts came with a slotted plate for the trans mount. I trimmed the floorboard a little for shifter clearance.

Has held up very well. It did pop into reverse one time after a failed 5th gear attempt while I was running about 55-60..lotta tire smoke..lol. My 5th gear has never worked right...thinking it's the shift fork as it just simply won't go in unless you literally just about throw it in. But once it's in it stays just fine.

I'm not out there smoking the tires off intentionally or launching it/drag racing but have done some shifts at 6k (rev limiter sounded pretty cool) a few times and have towed a tractor with it from Virginia back to South Carolina.

That’s awesome I’ve had my tranny rebuilt a few years back I had a built 3.0 that I was spraying but I bought a F-250 and let it sit for a couple months went to crank it and it started knocking pulled the motor tore it down to the block couldn’t find what was causing it so I told myself I’m not throwing more money into that motor I’m just trying to find a l33 like what you got there hard to get ahold of around here

Nice build! Just picked up a 5.3 a few days ago for the same swap (2wd). Today worked on making the factory harness to a stand alone one.

Do you think a body lift is required for a 2 wheel drive?

Do you happen to have the part numbers for the Flywheel Pressure plate Clutch disc and the throw out bearing you used

yeah I said the heck with it and just emailed advance adapters with all the info I have as far as the motor I'm using as well as my Trans info and what all will actually be needed. Everything on the site says not intended for use with gen 3 motor

I've got the entire parts list written down from advance adapters page. Took a while to get it figured out fully just had to dig into info to figure out what vehicle the motor came out of that I swapped In. I remember we swapped out the intake from DBC to DBW as well as added the whole accessory from my blown up motor to the one that's in it. With motor mounts and all I'm around 1700 right now and have been talking with a company about a full stand alone for adapting my cluster from the toyota as well as the tranny and Tcase wires to the 5.3 harness. Advanced adapters says it can't be done but ice seen a few. Only difference is I have no box and fenders and stuff are so rotted that I planned on removing them anyway, and the 4-5" lift

Stock height amd those are 31.5 x 10.5 x 15s
Plus there's enough room between my normal mount location and the front grill that was built onto the truck to fit the avalanche radiator

I used the stock Toyota radiator on mine and just made a shroud and put an electric fan on it motor runs between 180-185 it’s a built motor that makes in the ballpark of 600hp for the harness I used the psi made for the t56 tranny I’ve got a pillar gauge pod in my truck so I just put my oil pressure and engine temp in that haven’t tried to get my Speedo to work but it can be done using the factory tranny but my tach works psi has a wire to tap in to read then just adjust it for a v8 and to clear up questions about the Toyota transmission or stock rearend I’ve been driving it for about 4 months and have done everything to try to break them burnouts speed shifting racing etc and so far not a problem out of any of them

Sadly I don't have any rear end pictures but the rear end was replaced about 2 months before bought it from a friend. I don't remember what he said the gear spline was but he dropped it down 2 more amd it made it a little more snappy I definitely have some things ti take care of before getting started on putting things in. I figure ill pull everything I need amd sell everything I don't.
