Mine was toast when I pulled the chrome trim, there were soggy pine needles and mud stuffed in the channel and it had been a week since rain! I have a decent band-aid fix that should last awhile but will need to weld almost the whole thing back in. Glad to see someone got out lucky.

I'm not kidding I was super nervous of how bad it was going to be. Glad you were able to get yours at least a working patch.

Did you have the new glass glued with rubber molding over it or the import Hilux rubber gasket?

And photos or it didn't happen!

I just used the rubber gasket he had. He hadn't heard of the hilux gasket. I told him I would try and get him the info.

Dude and his assistant were super cool guys. They wheel all the time, jeeps, but nobody is perfect. I am fairly sure he will be grateful for the hilux info. Now where to find it.

I will try and take a pic or 2 tomorrow.

Edit: Been busy but hear is a pic.

Ok so long time no update. Life happens and toys take a back seat. However when life happens again it can put them back up front. My wife's 98 3.4 snapped the crank near the fly wheel. That has caused her to drive my chevy and me to get the runner back on the road again. But I have found an IFS rear end that I am going to press new bearing in to before install. But today I just got a set of new to me 33" BFG's. They wont fit until I install my lift. So thats a bonus... i just have to install my lift now. Darn!

I am going to need to have new Ujoints installed on the rear driveshaft. But they look due anyways so cool!!!

Hopefully updates will follow more timely.

Obligatory pics of new tires. And a big thanks to mytruck for the great price on the tires.

So Holy Crap it has started. Got the rear leafs off. Had to cut one bolt because the bolt and sleeve froze. So I had the greaseable bolts on hand just because... and needed them. But they were 18mm so I had to go buy a 3/4" drill bit for the hanger holes. This is going to be a long process. Will need new rear shackles someday. There was substantial buildup on the drivers side and I think will want about another inch or so after this kit settles. So thats next ish. Still gots to find me some cash for gears and setup.

Ok so somehow managed to lose the top u bolt plate for the rear. Right before Thanksgiving weekend. No yards were helpful and all were 70+ miles away. Got luck and found another guy in town that has spare yota parts and he happens to save his old U bolt plates when he did his flip kit. So I think I may get this done soon.
The drop drag link will be a new one for me but I am sure it will be self explanatory once I get there.

Ok, the back end is sitting on tires! Need to torque springs and U bolts tomorrow but thats easy enough. Hate working in temps below freezing. Its about 23 degrees currently. I lost one of my shock washers so I had to find something I could make work. Guy in town had an extra bump stop/U bolt plate he gave me I gained roughly 4.5" of lift in the rear, yea my rear springs were that shot, the fronts are worse. Still want to out my extended brake lines on but she should roll well enough to get it to my buddies shop for a weekend of shop time, install and bleed brake lines. Or I might do it in my driveway Cant wait to drive it so I can settle the springs a bit.

So stage 2 kinda sucked. I had a heck of a time getting the front pins out of the springs on the front end. I ended up buggering one of the pin threads removing it. Went to the local ace and they had no metric dies over 3/8's If I could weld I would just plate that big hole and drill out the hole and use a bolt. Even though the OME kit "does not require extended brake lines" I have to install them in order to even get my springs on. Got the front springs off then said the heck with it I am going inside after I couldn't get the springs in without installing brake lines. Dont want to do the brake lines till I have a helper. Makes it easier to have someone constantly topping off the reservoir while you swap the lines. Leas air to bleed out.

Ok so pressing on I took my stock drag link out, installed my extended brake lines up front (found out I have a clog in the passenger side , got my drives spring in and U bolts snugged up.

Tomorrow I am going to try and find time for my drag link to get installed and passenger spring done. I am heading to the city on Thursday where I will try and find a 14x1.25 die to unbugger the front spring pin. If not I guess I buy new pins for the stealership.

I will have photos eventually...

Ok picture of my glacially slow install. Rears installed and still on. 31's

Ok on the front do I need to disconnect the torque rod to get the springs on them reconnect it? When I take the jack stand out from under the passenger side it wont drop far enough to let me get the spring in. I am going to try and monkey with it tonight again. Only get an hour here and there to work on it. I got the front spring pin thread fixed. So ready to go forward. Just kinda stuck. Need a winch for me.

85 4runner, OME Dakar heavy springs, stock hangers and shackles.

Ok so back on tires. I will try and get pictures of the drag link tonight. Its very close to hitting the rebound clip on the springs. Hope to find time to bleed the brakes tonight and drive it a bit. Even if just around the driveway.

Ok so I am calling it done for now. Springs and steering seem good. Bounced around my driveway and property a bit. First impression is it went from jarring to controlled rebound. I am going to do a retorque at 50 150 500 miles. Be interesting to see what the 33's feel like with 4:10's on the road. but now I can in theory wheel again.

Ok so got the first 70 ish miles on it. I really like it but am going to fully go through it before I drive it again. Its going to be my DD until I get my Chevy rear end replaced. When 10 bolts come apart for me they come apart well.

Thats custom bro.
