I was able to sell my 22re thorley headers to a guy in my club and now have some cash to put towards some projects. My brakes have started squealing and my truck pulls to the left on heavy braking. I am going to do the v6 caliper upgrade, 1" MC upgrade, and vented rotor upgrade. Anybody have any input on their experiences with this?

Well turns out my ticking was due to a exhaust leak out of the header gasket. Putting in a remflex today. Hopefully will sort it out.

Cool wheelin pics! Is that Mr. Rainier in the background? Hope the new header gasket solves your ticking issue!

Header gasket has been replaced and my exhaust leak tick has gone away. The one that was in there was in terrible condition with a huge blowout in the lower left.

In other news I found that my EVAP system has a hose that is not hooked up and I for the life of me can not figure out where it is suppose to hook up at. Any help would be great.

Turns out that the mysterious EVAP hose is purely a vent. It is normally hooked up into the frame rail for venting on its normal application. Going to try and get some kind of breather or fish tank filter attached to it so I don't get any debris into my EVAP. In other news my brakes are up on the chopping block. Money isn't really in abundance after my swap so I'm thinking of just replacing my pads and having my rotors turned. I really want to do the V6 caliper swap, with a 1" MC, and dual booster but I just can't swing it right now. Especially because I would also need wheel spacers to make them work with my wheels.

Did a club run to Naches pass this weekend. I'll put up some more pics and the eventual video. What an incredible area and trail system. Right up there with Evans Creek as far as views go.

Your 4 runner looks sweet with the top off! I always wanted to wheel the Naches pass trails, lived half my life in Yakima valley, used to work in Naches Wa, and never made up to those trails

Well I have some maintenance planned for the truck in the coming weeks. As well as some more fun stuff as well. First up was to address a difficulty shifting I've had for some time that I think I solved today by replacing my master and slave cylinders.

17. Hard to shift, especially into 1st and reverse. Likely a bad slave/master cylinder (Remove/Replace)

I've also had a popping noise coming from my front end when doing hard turns. I believe I found the culprit today. My torque rod's forward most bolt has come completely undone. I'm going to just pull the torque rod as a lot of guys do it for more flex anyways. I won't be needing it anyways pretty soon. Hint Hint

Next weekend I've got a front brake job planned. Ordered Koyo wheel bearings from Marlin to replace while I'm in there. I plan on doing a complete knuckle rebuild over the Christmas break. However my front brakes are screaming at me so I'm going to just do a brake job as a stop gap. More to come soon!

The one problem I had when I removed the torque rod after the lift was MAJOR brake steer. I suggest re-torqing it down until you go histeer.

Yeah problem is that the bracket is bent as you can see in the picture there. It is making it so that the bolt will not thread. Maybe I'll see about bending it back and putting the rod back together.

I can't imagine taking it off without high steer. Mine right now has bad brake steer and it's on and right

I did install histeer in it about a month later, but that was a frightful period in my years of driving. The first time it happened I was heading to a friend's house which required a short stretch on I76 in PA. Well, about three minutes into my highway trek traffic just STOPPED and my truck bee-lined towards the guard rail probably going about 40 MPH. I thought I was done for, but Thank God I gained control after downshifting into first and letting the engine brakes to slow me down the rest of the way. After that I limped it around town only and gave myself at least three car lengths between me and the driver in front of me.

I have been there. It took some getting used to driving different. Its still scary in the winter when there is snow on the ground. I really need to do hi-steer.
Where at in PA are you from. I grew up there.

Very nice. I have yet to remove mine or even have to mess with yet. Im just hoping to save enough to do hi-steer.
