I've been fighting the urge to turbo my 3rz swap I have to remind myself that there are things my truck needs much more than that.

ya its hard to be disciplined with your money with this hobby...there's always new shiny things to buy for our trucks. I do like the idea of forced induction though simply because i live at altitude. you guys down there at sea level have a decent amount more power than we do

Trust me brother I feel your pain. I lived in Durango for a couple of years so I know how much that sucks.

I hear that. I'm @ 4300ft here in Reno. The hills I roll around in get up anywhere between 6-8k feet. One day turbo propane or tdi swap...

The turborunner is on hold for now but i did a little upgrade on the '84... i've been wanting to do this for a while, so when my buddy's head broke off my rearview mirror while wheeling i decided it was time.
2nd gen mirror/maplight updgrade:
had some material layin around so i made the spacer from 1/4" pvc - i know most guys use 1/2" so we'll see if i can get enough play out of the headliner for this to work, or if i need to go another route.

Nice lighting upgrade, that should make a big difference! I still need to do that, I have a mirror -dome light combo off my old 85' standard cab parts truck that I've been meaning to swap in, just haven't gotten around to it, won't be as bright as yours, but any improvement in interior lighting is worth it!....Are you going to run LED's in it?

thanks ed, ya i may put some LED's in it eventually but i'm not hard pressed for it cuz my existing dome light is pretty bright. it will be nice to have the map lights, as well as the "dimming" feature for night driving which my other mirror didn't have

got the mirror all cleaned up and installed. ran the wires over to the drivers side pillar and tapped into the dome light circuit, pretty simple for wiring. turned out well but now that i see it in daylight i think they gave me a blue mirror instead of gray, so i might have to paint it

Nice install, turned out really nice, looks like a factory option! You got me thinking maybe I will hold off and get me a second Gen mirror instead of installing the 85' std cab mirror that I have!

Good time to do it. You'll dig having the option on 2wd low. I love mine, I use 2 low more than I do 4 low.
Bill Moore is one of my all time favorite trails. We always take off for a week in September to go up there.
