84 yota dude
Do you know if their is a old man emu lift kit that would fit on my 4runner.
Gizler00
I have found a aisin clutch kit here does it look okay.
http://www.davezoffroadperformance.c...ew-clutch.html
I will also get a new flywheel
Also an update on the 4runner is we have take the rear diff farther apart. We took both of the drums apart and started to clean. I will hopefully have pictures up this weekend.
I have 2 one is should I swap the drum brakes for disc brakes in the rear. And should I put different gearing in the diffs for 33s.

Yeah for the 33s you will want to get different gearing. I have read it helps a lot, especially with aceleracion.

And about the time lapse my dad did that but here are the settings he used: Used a Nikon D7000 set up on a tripod. Set the intervalometer to take a photo every minute and let it run for about 3 hours. The photos were processed in Lightroom and the timelapse created using LRTimelapse, which is a free program. Camera settings have generally been 1/125 shutter speed, f/5.6, and fairly high ISO for poor lighting in the garage and in tight spaces.

Rear diff
Now for update on the 4runner.
We have taken off both drums.
Then we took out all the springs and cables.
Then we wire brushed all the loose rust and paint off and painted it black.
That is where we stopped for the day.

Progress
Got a little more progress throughout the week.
Took the frame to local shop to get it sandblasted and then powder coated.
Finished one side of the rear axle brakes. I didn't know drum brakes were so complicated. We got all new springs, brake shoes, and brake drums for the rear.
Now we have started on the other side of the rear diff. We did one side at a time so we had something to refer too while we put it back together.
Also got to try out zinc plating and that is the result. I turned out pretty good.
This is the zinc anode we used that we got off amazon.
And that is were we left of for the day.

update
The project is kinda going slow at the moment but got a little progress done.
One thing we got done was finished putting the drum brakes back together.
So the rear diff is almost done. I was wondering if you guys think I should clear coat or topcoat it with something so it doesn't scratch so easy since I live on a gravel road.
I also got the free wheeling hub all cleaned up and rear painted. I will get some pictures up soon hopefully.
That is what we have completed up to this point. If their is any tips you guys have please tell me.

Thanks go ahead and take all the ideas you want from us we are still learning how do everything our selves.
Haven't got much done on the truck lately. We are in the process of zinc plating all the bolts and cleaning up other small parts witch is taking a little more time then is thought.
That is basically all we have done.

For paint I would recommend using a black enamel that they put on tractors and stuff. my friends uncle builds land crusiers and uses it for frame and axles and its great. your getting alot done! I recently got mine over summer and ended up rebuilding the engine after the head gasket blew up. for lifts if you want 2 in get ome, if you want 3-4 get procomp. if you do do the 3-4 i would recommend a histeer conversion so you dont have bumpsteer. really dangerous when you have to slam on the brakes. for 33s and a w56 (5 speed manual you probably have) go with 4:88 gearing. if you get 35s+ bigger tires go up to 5.29 gearing. depending on how much you wheel you might want a locker, selectable are best but $1k+ each axle but a good detroit autolocker is good for $500 a piece or an aussie locker for around $300 a piece. if your going to lock just one axle do the front. its safer to pull than push offroad. for your clutch i recommend the marlin crawler heavy duty one. its on there website and might be more expensive but its worth it. and since you have everything apart do a U-bolt flip kit on the axles so you dont have the ubolt ends sticking down and catching on the trail. any other questions? i probably have a good suggestion or answer

Also do you know where I could get that paint and what it is called.
I think I have decided on ome lift I don't want it wo be too high since it will be my daily driver also.
Thanks for the information also what do you think is the biggest tire I could get without changing the gearing.
And thanks about the tip on the ubolt flip kit will anything else have to be changed to do that kit.

its just called enamel itll be at any autoparts store or homedepot, maybe even walmart. and you could get away with 33s on stock gear ratio it will just be slow, or else you could stick with 31s and probably not even notice, since it will be your dd i would recommend some bfg allterrains (i have 33x9.5r15 on my 2wd 86 truck) they last a long time with tought sidewalls and will be plenty of tread for light wheeling. the only thing on the ubolt flip kit you might have to change (dont think you will after looking at pics of your axle) is the spring perches but i think you will be fine. you can order those from trailgear or lowrange offroad or allpro or probably any offroad shop in your area can get them for you.
