Just curious, what kind of gas mileage are you getting with the Weber 38 compared to the 32/36. I have a very similar engine as yours modification-wise and am also suffering from a lack of sufficient air and fuel once into the secondaries. So I was thinking about the possibility of switching to a 38 since you've had so much success with it.

SCOPE THIS OUT FOLKS!! A fully restored 1982 Toyota 4WD SR5 Pickup is going across the block at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale today!
This is an excellent truck that has the potential to find its new owner at very good price! It's a fully restored 1982 Toyota 4WD SR5 Long Bed Pickup. It should be going across the block during today's live show at 3:00pm PST/4:00pm MST/5:00pm CST/6:00pm EST. I have a friend out in Scottsdale right now that buys and sells cars at the Barrett-Jackson auction every year so I had him scope it out for me. He said that the restoration was very meticulously completed using OEM Toyota parts, all of the original parts are in excellent condition and the engine runs strong. He said it is definitely worth looking at where the bid goes. I wanted to get more details on the restoration so I contacted the shop that did the restoration to request some restoration pictures and they should be sending something to me shortly.

Here's the Barrett-Jackson link to the lot:

This same truck sold at Mecum Indianapolis in 2012 for $19,000:

Other comps at auction include:
1979 Toyota 4WD Pickup (#260) in 2010 for $10,500:

1979 Toyota 4WD Pickup (#260) in 2011 for $8,250:

1979 Toyota 4WD Pickup (#260) in 2012 for $11,500:

1980 Toyota 4WD Pickup in 2013 for $16,000:

1982 Toyota 4WD SR5 Pickup in 2014 for $8,000

Given the fact that this truck is completely out of its market and under appreciated at an auction of this magnitude and volume, I imagine that the winning bidder could get a hell of a price on this truck and that is exactly why I am having my friend bid on it for me. If the truck is truly what it appears to be then I could see a price tag of around $13,000-$16,000 being a rather reasonable deal and likely within the range it will go for. How much I bid is solely dependent on the information and pictures that I receive from the builder. Buuuuut, I already have a first gen pickup and I don't REALLY need another one so I figured that I would share this with you all in the event that some of you may be interested. Good luck if you decide to bid, but I will be bidding too if it goes low enough so don't run the bid up too high on me...

Dave..... appreciate the tip / heads up-----It does look like a nice restoration.....the only thing that jumps out to me is that the Tailgate is from an earlier year since it does not have the center latch. May not matter but just wanted to bring it to your attention. And GOOD LUCK!! :-)

If it sold for 19,000 in 2012, I fully expected it to go over 20k. Who did the resto?
I'm surprised at the BFG KM1s. Those haven't been made in 15" in quite some time.
Best looking tire they ever made (and a great performer too). Shame you can't get them anymore.
Needs round headlights tho.

I officially have new member of the family coming within the next week! I had the dealership searching other dealership stock for a new Tacoma for the past couple of weeks. We were about to give up and just order one but then they found one yesterday that is in bound to another dealership so they were able to snag it for me. It is a 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport V6 4x4 Double Cab in Magnetic Gray. Dealerships can't keep Tacos on the lot and most of them are sold before they are even delivered to the dealership. Plus apparently that particular trim with that color is extremely popular. I was so stoked when they called and said that they found exactly what I wanted. I traded in my 2005 Tundra - I'm going to miss the ole girl - she was good to me over the past 160,000 miles but the new Tacoma is going to be a great truck too! Everything is signed and ready to go; just waiting on the truck to get delivered so that I can ride off into the sunset! They said it should hit the ground next week, but I'm hoping that it is sooner!

So stinkin jealous. I love those new Tacomas. The interior is great. That magnetic gray is one of, if not my favorite color on those trucks. I actually thought about painting my truck that color but just decided to keep it the factory red.
There's nothing quite like taking home a brand new truck. It's great knowing that everything is perfect and you're not going to run into any hidden problems because of the PO. That's something that wouldn't even cross most people's minds, but definitely something that most of us on YT can appreciate.
Do plan on doing any modifications to the truck?

Short bed
Yeah, I love the magnetic gray as well, plus it matches my wife's Camry! LOL My Tundra was the sky silver and I really liked that because it hides dirt really well so I was kind of torn at first between the two colors, but I saw one in the magnetic gray and fell in love...
It's nice having a new truck, but I have no problems with used. I bought my 2005 Tundra "used" (It was a dealer demo vehicle with 25,000 on it for $17,500) and it had 160,000 of trouble free driving on the clock when I traded it so a good used truck can still be a good investment. With new vehicles, you get that instant depreciation, but it is no where near as bad with Toyotas. For instance, the sticker price on the Tacoma I bought was $36,700, but I looked up the 3 year residual value and it was $26,000. What other vehicle holds it's value at 71% after 3 years?! That's excellent - especially if you are financing. Just go look at used Tacomas and you'll see how well they hold their value; even with a new body style out! Plus Toyota's certified used programs are great - pretty much eliminates the "previous owner problems" that you may have with a used vehicle. There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying a used vehicles - just have to make sure you know what you are buying and who you are buying it from. Plus, if you like to buy cars every 3-5 years then used or leases are the way to go. I know that I am going to have this truck for a very long time (had my Tundra for almost 10 years) so I don't have any problem buying new.
I'm not planning any major modifications right off the bat. If anything, I may get a cap for it (for family vacations) and some stainless step bars. I'm coming out of a fullsize truck so I'll have to see how I like the ride height for now. It has the TRD suspension so it really doesn't need to be upgraded so I may likely just put a leveling kit on the front and call it a day. Might put some bigger A/T tires on it, but probably not until I burn up the tires that come on it.

Well it was nice out today (nice being 40* and not snowing or raining) so I decided to take a little drive around town. On my way home I drove across some railroad tracks and noticed a slight clunk coming from my driver side front wheel. It wasn't bad at all, but enough for me to be concerned so I drove the 1/2 mile I had left to get home and jacked up the front end. I have a heavy rubber coated tire thumper so I gave the front tires a couple good whacks to see if I could hear or feel any movement in the hubs. Both sides seemed to have some very slight play so I yanked the hub locks to scope out the torque on the spindle nuts. Turns out that they were a little loose so I pulled the hubs to check for bearing damage. Luckily the bearings were still good. Since my 52mm socket has eluded me (I used some channel locks to remove the spindle nuts), I'm going to have to go out to get a new one tomorrow.
No gear oil coming through to the hubs so I suppose that the Marlin Eco seals are doing their job properly (please ignore the rusty brake calipers - maybe I'll finally get around to painting the only thing that I didn't paint on the truck...):

Hub locks and cone washers came off easy thanks to a go coat of anti-seize when I assembled them (highly recommended):

And I also have a fresh spare set of gaskets and lock washers so I didn't have to worry about salvaging the old ones:

Re-assembly will commence tomorrow...

I got both hubs tightened up and re-assembled yesterday. Total time... 2 hours! I was expecting a lot worse time wise, but having anti-seize on the cone washers really prevented any headaches. A couple taps on the hub lock studs with a hammer and they popped right off!
Passenger side hubs were slightly loose, but the bearings were still good. And again, no gear oil in the hubs so those Marlin Eco seals are holding up:

Everything re-assembled, like new again:

Took a little test drive and no more clunking so it looks like the loose hubs were my only problem! Woot Woot!

But like you said, it isn't my worry anymore... This is sitting in its place in the garage now:
