So have a not so good update 2 years later.
On the way home tonight my passenger side headlight high beam was flickering quite a bit even though I was using low beams. Fortunately it was dusk so I was able to get away with out my headlights for the last couple of miles.
Got home thinking I had a bad relay, short or headlight switch.
Decide to take a look at the lights...kind of ticked, found moisture in the passenger side housing.
the light has not been subjected to a crash or anything.
I swapped out an old H4, not one flicker with the truck idling for 30 minutes. Plug the trucklite headlight back in, high beam starts to flicker again.
Glad I didn't start a lot of chasing ghosts with a DVM..the swapped light leads me to believe the moisture is the culprit. No moisture or any issues with the d/s light.
time to see how Truck Lite's customer service is with their 3 year warranty.
I really like the out put on these things and glad the warranty might come through for me but I really don't want to have to pay $180 for a replacement. That will probably not happen for a month or more..
I did not realize they were that expensive and it would be irritating if it was just out of warranty. I have run into issues with the old style lights getting moisture in them. Never really dealt with that til the past few years. Just chalk it up to things not being built as well as they used to be.
That stinks, I hope truck lite resolves your issue witout ...uh...issues.
No reponse from them yet. I will fire off another email tomorrow. No response by end of the week I will call them..
last summer I started to redo a dash pad i picked up awhile ago.
It has 3 layers of fiberglass
I used a roll on bedliner on it, than covered that with 4-5 coats of plasti-dip.
old dash pad out
this set of plastic prybars from harbor freight work great for pulling interior parts
I don't recall what year the truck was that the dashpad was pulled from ut of but it is interesting that the stock 81 had more spots for clips..little bit of stupid trivia
Not perfect but did this with stuff left over from other projects. Biggest pain was unbolting the cage and pulling it back six inches to get the new dash pad back in. No more looking at holes

I have been thinking of making a fiberglass replacement dash for my rig $320 for OEM is to dang steep.
If i was doing a restoration i would definitely spend the $320 on a new dash but this truck is far from stock and perfect so happy with the outcome for using left overs.
Update on my Truck Lite LED headlight issue:
I wasn't getting any email response from Truck Lite so I posted on their Facebook page.
Very quick response and they had me email another department and I got a great response.
They are sending another set of lights and they will cover shipping for me to return the my existing lights with an RMA. It took some time but kind of cool getting two replacements instead of just one.
Yeo, am happy it came through.
seats are great, i want to lower them in the back though, angle just isn't quite right
Those seats DO indeed look great. You can tell by the passenger door position that they are much farther back than possible in the single cabs. My Honda seats have a rather thick backrest, which exacerbate the problem! The extracab models were a great invention, but I see there's no issue at all in the Trekker!
The dashboard looks like new... because it is!

the extra room is one thing i really like about the trekker..thanks!
Why spend around $80 for a CO2 tank mount from PowerTank when you can pick up a fire extinguisher mount used for $15
Used some racing weight clamps
Like I have used for tubing mounts in the past:
Viola - ten minutes later done:
I'll redo the extended side bracket Later on.
