Good call, I'll check that and start a new thread, and I'll stop derailing DZ's build thread now!

I'm not always the most up to date on yotatech, so if you start a new thread about your steering, shoot me a PM, and I'll try to contribute.

WOW Thread archaeology at it's finest...JK..
I'll try to remember as it was a long time ago.
I used another push pull power steering box, a dropped drag link and a steering shaft with rag joints that were in much better shape than i had previously.

there is a way to tighten the steering box slightly, not a cure all but it can help alleviate some issues

New Tie Rod Ends, Trunnion bearings and new wheel bearings etc can help wandering issues. steering stablizer good?
What kind of shape is your front end in? after rebuilding mine it was like a new truck.

Converting to high steer was probably the best bang for the buck improvement i have made to my truck over the years

Jesus H. Christ. I go in to the hospital....and you go "chopping" on a trekker. Then Kawasaki is blaspheming them about the gate being too high. I see.....Highlux will be sure to lose it when we do this stuff....so we either have a conspiracy to wound me to make all this happen....or it was "convenient timing" to do while I was down.

This is Trekker conspiracy I tell ya. Conspiracy.

He's the only one I would give a pass on altering a Trekker.
He jumped out of airplanes to protect me. He gets a life pass. Plus he is cool as hell.

Yes I am feeling the bro-toyota brother med love this morning.

Every single one of the guys in my family have fought for the people in this country overseas that's where I myself have seen toyota in action doing well more than our counterparts

My favorite truck ever was our little fob-hopper hilux with a D4D.

Dark green and ran like a top. Beat to crap though!

yes Dave you are correct. I just did this as a test to see how the pain meds were affecting your cognizant ability.

Note to self: nitrile gloves and fiberglass don't play well together:

Since I was laying fiberglass on the bed I decide to start on a long neglected dash pad renewal project:

Dash has a couple of layers of fiberglass

The bed has been glassed back in. Reforming the two inside corners is going to be a challengeName: 20140526_193208_zpspmc180xj.jpg

Interested to see how your dash turns out. Mine's got one or two splits in it now.

Much better.
I had to go back in your thread to look closer at the stock tail section to see where you were changing it because, to me, at first glance it looks like you only lost a tail light. After I had some coffee I can see the noticeable difference in height of the rear panel. Looks like a much nicer improvement.
Now what will you do with the tailgate? I'm guessing you will make it larger, perhaps enough to actually sit on/'tailgate'?

Thank you sir..
I have a 2nd Hatch that I will extend 41/4". I wish I could integrate a small tailgate.
I will redo some of the body work later this summer. I needed to get it back together for a couple of planned trail runs this summer..

^^^ My goal, before fall, is to get all the body rust taken care of , get my fiberglass fenders on and paint it. Not a lot of rust on the bed, but it needs attention.
