Bad link, since that info isn't reliable and was posted last summer and officially there is no solid info on the next gen Runner which I don't think we'll see til early '10.

I don't think Toyota even knows what is next for the 4Runner.

if toyota doesnt stop trying to compete with the big 3, and make things reliable as they used to be, people are going to stop buyin em, and will buy hondas instead. wake up toyota: time to go back to your roots

Crap, what am I going to do with all my Y2K emergency supplies now?

I'm hoping Toyota realizes soccer-mom's aren't buying 4runners as much, maybe they'll get real agressive with the platform.

read post #25 and onward. Sounds like indeed the 4runner is going to migrate back to it's routes. hopefully they throw in an available 5 or 6 speed again...

Man, if they put a freakin camry motor in a 4Runner I'm gonna be pisted. That's exactly what jeep did with that minivan motor that they're running in the jk's now. guuuutless. I think that they should take a 4Runner and retro it like that Tacoma they had at the SEMA show.

Hey. The new Camry V6 is no where near gutless. Close to 270hp. Damn things fly. I wish I could afford one.

2010 4Runner carries over unchanged. Production begins mid-September with West coast dealership arrivals beginning October.

I think this will be the last year for 4R for good reason. It's being outsold in many areas of the country by FJ Cruiser and Toyota doesn't need another body-on-frame SUV dragging down CAFE. Like it or not, it's EPA mandates that are transforming the industry.

Nope, but it's a persistent rumor usually spread by dealers wanting to sell a 4Runner in stock.

2010 FJ production begins mid-August with dealership arrivals beginning September on the West coast. It carries over unchanged.

If anything they should do away with the Sequoia. Then they would have a small SUV (RAV) Mid (4Runner/Highlander) and large (Land Cruiser)

They're in a box over Sequoia. Capital investment, facilities, tooling and equipment must be amortized over years, so Sequoia will be around for awhile. It also outsells 4Runner in many regions of the country. Still, I'm sure it's a decision they'd reconsider now.
