All terrain tire opinions

Last year I bought a set of 16" Tundra wheels with Toyo Open Country AT's already on them for $150. Guy had them in his garage and wanted them gone, so it was a great score for me. The tires still have a good amount of tread on them so i'm in no hurry to get rid of them.
After driving on them for a good while they are not bad tires, just -- well not as much all terrain as I need. I'm not a serious off roader by any means. I usually put my Runner in 4wd maybe 5~6 times a year, but when I use it it's serious enough.
I have had BFG MT's on my Runner previously and I loved almost everything about them ---- except the noise!!
In North Tx we usually get some snow and ice in the winter so I need a tire that works in the slush, ice and snow too.
I guess to sum it up i'm searching for 4wd Shangri-la, A tire that does it all and is still quiet on the road.
I have had my eye on the Kelly Safari TSR tires. I can buy a set online delivered to my door for $765
Just not sure about this tire because it's just so rare. I have had Kelly tires on another vehice and was very pleased with them.
I would assume that being owned by GoodYear they are close to a Wrangler design and performance.
My second choice might be the BFG MT2 it looks kida like what I think would work for me. After that possibly one or the Pro Comp tires?

Just not able to make up my mind
Give me your ideas and opinions

If you are concerned about road noise, your best bet would be to just stick with an AT tire like the BFG T/A KO's like the 2 guys above recommended. I have Goodyear MT/R's and they are by far the best tire I have had on my truck, but they are really noisy. Noise will be a problem with pretty much every mud tire you find including the BFG KMII's and the Wrangler Duratracs because of the agressive treads. The BFG's should do well for what you use them for, without being terribly noisy. I would stay away from off-brand tires like Kelly, they just don't have the reputation for quality that some of the bigger names, like BFG, have. Just my $0.02

I did some searching and found some good prices on the Kelly TSR tires but would have to have them delivered. Then gotta hassle with hauling them around, find a place to mount & balane --- yadda yadda yadda.
So I called a local auto service that is supposed to be a Kelly dealer and the guy quotes me a rediculiously low price mounted- balanced and road hazard.
I am almost certian the guy has mis-quoted the order it is so low -- by almost $300.
So I think I am going to get it in writing and then make him stick to the price and the tire. Not that i'm trying to be an ass but I asked the guy like 3 times -- ARE YOU SURE?
he said yes every time. I'm going to make him stick to it.

OH also if I happen to not like the tires Kelly is having a no hassle 30 day test drive. If I no like they will take them back -- no questions

After talking with the local shop that quoted me the low price on the Kelly tires, i decided to check it out.
I had the service manager order the tires in so I could have a look at them-- sure enough it was a jam-up great deal! I will be looking at $700. drive out.
That price is less than the best price I found online and I would have had to add shipping and then taken it to a shop to have them mounted and balanced.
Kelly offers a 30 day return policy -- I love em or bring them back for a different kind of tire.
I will get some pictures later and post them up

I've run BFG A/T KOs for the last 3 years and like them.

That said, they are annoying to balance.

Next time around, I might look at the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. They've been getting pretty rave reviews.

Set of Kelly TSR's
So far I am really impressed great ride and really low noise. They only sing when you go over grooved pavement. Tread pattern is very agressive for an all terrain. They look to be in between BFG TA and KM2. For the $$ they are a steal (my opinion). They look a lot like the Pro Comp tires
I'll let you know how they do in the ruff when I get to test them.

Nice looking tires, if you want them to be worth a darn on ice you should get them siped, helps with wet traction too.

Those are some nice looking tires. They look like a cross between the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's and the BFG KMII's.

If you want to sipe your tires do some research first and talk to the guys where you got them installed because it could void your warranty.

not a bad choice. My father has those tires on his pickup and they perform pretty well. They have lasted forever too.
