Around here trucks can obstruct the rear bumper anytime they are towing or carrying a load with no worries because the reg. sticker goes on the front plate... you would'nt believe the number of idiots who drive around with the sticker on the back plate like a car... cop wants to be nasty they can ticket you for that...

that box though might get you a ticket if the trailer was not there [definitely if you were on the 407 toll hwy. without a transponder] don't forget about a light for night if you are rigging up a temp. plate mount on the bracket [again nasty cop prevention]

Gotta LOVE the stores where we can treasure what others considered trash! My house is FULL of stuff that get's envied all the time FROM THOSE STORES! Plus, I've saved THOUSANDS, easily, over the last few years!

OOOO toasty!...

though truth be told I'm more a fan of the cold wx survival method they taught to female KGB agents... ie... "shared bodily warmth" but what ever works...

tore into the rear lights today. the wiring is in better condition than i thought, but i'm still going to spruce it up a bit (ie, get rid of the blue connectors and solder all connections). also hooked it up to the battery, then the truck, to test it out. the circuit box i built works flawlessly.

the tail lights aren't washed-out like the picture looks. it's a more even distribution of a perfect red.

this is closer to the actual color. but much brighter.

and the test-setup. now i need to mount the battery somewhere.

as soon as i get the roof done, i can camp in the darn thing. i need a nice, loooong weekend

Is that receptacle on the converter broken at the bottom? It looks like it is... the receptacle appears to be a standard stove top type part that you can find at most any hardware store fwiw...
As for Batt. location I think the factory location was under one of the seats in the trailer... I would get a Marine Batt. Box to keep it in that way if you ever get a "boil over" or Batt. leak the acid is contained and has less chance of damaging the interior... also it's safer if you get a roof leak or some other kind of spill...

I'm also eagerly awaiting a report [and pics] of the first trip... actually given the wx this past week getting it done soon might be a good idea... it looks like we are going to have a "frisky" tornado/storm season to say the least and you might find the trailer useful in other ways though hopefully not for yourself/family in particular...

the plug is a standard 115v outlet. i plan on fixing that thing up a bit. just the plug is busted, but i want to clean the whole thing out, too.

and i like that idea for the battery box. i could easily mount it somewhere under a seat.

though, for my first time camping, this'll be little more than a fancy tent.

...you might find the trailer useful in other ways...
not sure i follow...

What does this note mean?... does VA tax you for having a trailer [mobile home?] ie like property tax?!...
or does this mean you can run around without a plate on it and no ins. on it?
just curious

so you would have had to pay a tax on it every year?!

crazy man...
up here you pay sales tax [hst] once when you buy it... and a one time lic. fee... after that it's just the ins. bill yearly...

well the governor let you dodge that one... for now... guess you'll see what the next administration decides to do after the elections... if it changes that is...
