you can also run them on Jet-A... although slightly more expensive. it helps to have friends in aviation.

If you run on Jet A you need to add a little motor oil to the tank I'm told... the Jet A is too thin and will not provide enough "lubrication" to the fuel system...

on the other hand home heating oil is another alternative... just don't get caught with it in your tank by the inspectors...

Yes, i have never done it but i have some friends that do, i'd like to learn the ropes as we end up with a lot of sumped fuel at work.

What about ashless two-stroke oil? I have heard that burning regular lubricating oils like ATF and engine oil can promote carbon growth. Some of the Mazda Wankel crowd seem to prefer using two-stroke oil over the factory engine oil injection.

Don't get caught with any non-highway fuel in your tank. Ag diesel, kerosene, Jet A, fuel oil, etc.

On the other hand I've never heard of a non-commercial vehicle getting pulled in for a tank content check unless they where leaving a black [or other colour] smoke sausage along the road... they might catch it at a roadside safety blitz but very doubtful...

and are you using the stock fuel tank?

That's an outrageous increase in torque for the minimal gain in horsepower. Can you please share what mods you did to achieve that??

Which is why it should send up a red flag.

120hp @ 2100rpm equates to 300ft-lbs, not 410. Likewise, 410ft-lbs @ 2100 equates to 164hp, not 120.

The equation you're using is only good for one RPM, so it will only give you the torque at the MAX HP RPM, or it will give you the HP at the MAX TORQUE RPM, but will not give you the MAX TORQUE if you plug in MAX HP, and vice versa. MAX TORQUE and HP are achieved at different RPM's. It isn't clear the way he stated it. If he makes 120hp at 2100 RPM, then he'd make 300 TORQ at 2100 RPM, but would still make his MAX torque at a different RPM.

The equation I used applies to any and all instantaneous points on the dyno plot. The 410ft-lbs would have to happen at 1537rpm or lower (unlikely for a TDi at that level) otherwise the peak power would be higher than 120 at any RPM above that.

I index drilled the flywheel today and bored out the center to 43mm. I have not tried it on yet but will when I get home. This weekend I plan to bolt the 1.6 block to the trans in the truck and see how it looks. Start making the engine mounts from there. With the trans sitting in the truck it looks like it sits off to the passenger side of the truck a bit? I will take some measurements but it looks that way. I am going to try and use the stock mounts on the frame if I can but the block is a lot shorter so I will see how it goes.
That is how most motorbikes are built with the clutch on the side of the engine
