got the okay from the wiff to buy a few things, rad fan, thermal switch, and crap to finish the intake.
Finally road worthy!!!
first i let it idle for about 25 minutes, making sure there isn't any leaks or weird stuff going on. after making sure the fan turned on at the right temp and it cooled the engine, i took er for its first road test... first stop gas station for some fresh gas. next stop Checker auto parts to show them what all these parts i have been buying went too.. on the way to checker is a small stretch of highway, got it up to 70mph with light throttle, rode smooth no vibrations or wobbles.
after checker went to my friends house to take him for a ride(he has an 03 taco with lots of stuff) he wanted a good first gear pull to see what this things got.. so first gear pull it is... yeah i think thats the fastest this thing has ever made it to 35mph..
so after about an hour of run time the first problem arose
the rear main seal is leaking..
i had no signs of leakage when i had the flywheel of but the seal must have dried out from sitting for all those years. other than that nothing so far! i am expecting some issues
to pop up for the simple fact that that stuff happens when you do engine swaps but for now i ma just going to take er easy and make stuff look pretty wile i wait for funds to come back for new parts and cool goodies!

Congrats man ..
so your iacv is plugged and the engines idleing fine at start up, and when warm ?
im having problems with my .. she wont idle at start up and after shes warm she will idle ok , not great but ok ..
i tested the iacv and it test out ok. i also removed it took it apart and installed it in the open position, truck idles great. but then i turned her off and tried again , and back to crappy idle ..
so its closing but not opening back up when its supposed to .

when i had my MAF unplugged yes it would cook first and a little in 2nd (35's, 4:88 gears) but now no so much, im lucky if it will break lose in the rain. cant seem to get it to run without the MAF anymore lol FML i hate wiring

try this RMA, there is a little screw with a hex head on the front side of throttle linkage(same side as the tps sensor) this screw is for the dashpot(keeps throttle from slamming closed) tighten that screw till you reach your desired idle(when hot) this way if the iac sticks oror acts up your idle will stay the same, or you can just block it of/plug it(iac).

Nice work.
Kind of interesting, I came across this swap looking in the LOCAL classified ads and came across a bellhousing and saw the list of parts and thought, oh cool, 1UZ swap.
Well, it just so happens that I just got my 1UZ swap 4runner road worth 2 days ago, the same day as birduck.
Anyway, nice swap there. Can't wait to head over and compare notes.

well so far so good, fixed a couple issues that i had, one was the rear main seal, should have replaced it when i had the motor apart but now i know what i am looking at when i need to put a clutch in it, only took 2.5 hours so not bad.
second issue was the front yoke on the t-case was leaking around the seal, popped it of and found i must have popped the spring off the seal when i had it appart, cleaned seal surface on the yoke, returned the spring to its home and drilled the flange for my auto driveshaft wile i had it off.. no more leaky... sweet...
i feel pretty good about not having issues, i took my time and did stuff right.. lets see how things play out.
60 miles city driving on it so far.
