the one you will need is your oil pressure "sender", attached to the oil filter mount.
unless you have a non sr5 cluster, then you will be okay with the lexus oil pressure "switch"
you need the engine harness uncut..
i would recommend you get really familiar with your FSM and wiring diagrams, this will help you answer allot of your questions.. and believe me there will be allot.

Well, it just so happens that I just got my 1UZ swap 4runner road worth 2 days ago, the same day as birduck.

Anyway, nice swap there. Can't wait to head over and compare notes.

wheres your thread .. lets see some pics man .. what problems you run into and how did you fix them ..

second issue was the front yoke on the t-case was leaking around the seal, popped it of and found i must have popped the spring off the seal when i had it appart, cleaned seal surface on the yoke, returned the spring to its home and drilled the flange for my auto driveshaft wile i had it off.. no more leaky... sweet...

i feel pretty good about not having issues, i took my time and did stuff right.. lets see how things play out.
60 miles city driving on it so far.
good only minor issues .. enjoy man ..

cool. np..
got my PS lines done today and decided to see if the high side would give me any issues.
whent up the street to a gravel pit not far from here and did some wheelin..
well i got one, i was trying to climb a rock with just the front left tire and ass soon as i hit that 12-1400 psi output of the pump it shot one of the high side clamps off... good thing i anticipated a problem and brought ps fluid and some tools ..
looked like i could have put more of a flair on the end, fix that after the the engine cools off..
do to the auto diff having 4.56's in them and the final drive and the trans my 31"
tires are a little short and the 4L in the tcase puts my crawl ratio pretty slow, like 3-4k rpm's in first puts me at maybe 3-5 mph... i can pretty much start in 5th.
some flex pics:

birdduck- that is the nicest and cleanest engine bay I have seen after a swap like this. You did very nice work, I can't wait to start mine. Hope you don't mind questions. I know I will have alot of them. The first one is have you towed anything with it. I worry about overheating it. I have a 1994 4runner with the 3.0 and pull a 17' travel trailer right now. Want more power to pull hills better. It seems to only do about 30 mph now when ever there is anykind of a hill. Hopefully this v8 will change that.

Your skills are definetly showing with these this picture.

I guess the engine doesn't need the charcoal canister.

I guess that's what it would have looked like if it had come from the factory with the v8. Congratulations on making it to the end.

wow thanks guys.. it makes me feel like i want to give someone a hug...
yeah no charcoal can.
the line under the throttle body is a fuel line, its my inlet.
yeah it helps to clean up the engine a lot.
there is about 1/2 an inch between the heads and the firewall, get a pic for yah when its light outside.

i haven't towed anything yet, i do have a small trailer i plan on hooking up..
i may run into cooling issues when towing will have to wait and see?
for now my final drive is really short, i need to get some taller tires to even it out and maybe use less gas..
are you keeping it 5spd with the swap?

i got rid of a lot of stuff, some even include cruise(for now), i will slowly get it to smog legal, but that will take more money and time for now the basics and getting it on the road with zero problems, once i am there i will start considering things like AC and cruise and yeah not causing global warming...
