Header question for 3.4 swap

I just started 3.4 swap saturday. Tried to order Downey headers but there out of business. Does anyone know what headers will fit or were to get a set of Downey headers. Thanks.

I heard that ebay has them, other then that check Craigslist. There are a few other brands but haven't seen them used on this site.

Most 3.4 headers, JBA for ie, won't work because of the pass side drop, right?

The passenger side exit is not ideal no but it will work. some heat shielding may have to be done but just as long as it comes around the t/c to the drivers side it should work. it should be about the same situation as running headers on the 3.0.

You need to take it back to the drivers side to tie back into that header there to make your Y connection and then from there to the first 02 sensor then the cat then so on...

at least that what i understand

I remember hearing about someone that had them not sure if it ws here or on TTORA. As for other companies I think there is Gibson, and TRD. Though I think TRD are the really expensive ones.

I just got the 3.4 into my 86. I'm using the R151 turbo trans w/ the 3.0 M/T bellhousing and the trans moved forward 2 inches from stock.

I've got the Downey headers, and they are very tight. The collectors need to be brought closer together to avoid hitting the frame. The slave cylinder will need a heat shield and the collector wrapped I think, as well as relocating the fuel line and brake lines by the passenger side frame rail at the fire wall.

I've ran DT's for a while now and they've been flawless. They're one of the most commonly available headers for the 3.4 nowadays (although there's still other options out there). Stay away from those OBX ones you see on ebay; I haven't heard good things.

I was reading on 4x4wire about Kutters swap. He used the tubular exhaust manifolds from a 2001 and later Tacoma. Has anyone else tried this out? Id like to see some pics of these manifolds and know if these are worth obtaining compared to the earlier style manifolds.
