thanks.
I'm going to check the voltage on that. The engine I got it from is a 98T100. The MAF might be bad already. I'll call the place I got it from to see if I can exchange for another one.
I also need to order two O2 sonsors. Unless I can use the 95 ones.....any thoughts on that?
I'm gonna nget new cat converter cause the old one probably went bad due to the HG problem.

Probably a long shot but I think I remember someone having the same problem with the maf placed backwards in the intake tract...
As for the o2 sensors check on oreily's and see if the part numbers are the same for compatability.

I'll be honest with you I'm not sure, I never removed my MAF from the air box so far because I didn't want to accidently reverse it. I just remember a posting mentioning some similar symptoms with the maf reversed.

Yeah, I've noticed the arrow and it's pointing towards the Throttle body.
I'm picking up another one during my luch hour tomorrow for 50.00
I hope to get the tach working tonight....

t the tach problem solved. I didn't put the signal from the igniter (8 blk) in the right pin on the IH2 (20) side. I also made the mistake of taking out the needle when I soldered the 10K ohm resistor. When I put the needle back it was way off...like 3K off....
Anyway, it's in the ball park now...

I'm going to get the K&N air filter kit since I don't want to deal with the air box. I think 4wheel parts sells them for about 220.00
I also found out that the Autozone exhaust pipe I got has the O2 sensor in the wrong position. I'll have to modify it to work. As it is, I can't put the O2 sensor on cause the frame of the truck is in the way.
Second thought, I'm going to take out the section to see if I can install the sensor then put it back and see how much clearance I have...if any. When I have to replace it again, I'll just remove that section again.
BTW, I did not do the fuel relay mod yet. The truck started fine and idle fine for about 30 sec. Does this mean I'm good to go?

Ok. I finally got the truck started with NO code at all. It rev. fine too.
I'll take some pics after I finish putting in K&N filter kit. I don't want to use the air box. Getting the whole kit with the CARB approved air filter setup will help me pass smog...I hope.

Yeah. the MAF and the coolant temp wire wasn't making contact. I end up buying two more MAF for 80.00. The original placed told me they want 50 bucks for exchange....forget it!.
Oh, and the fuel pump wasn't coming on...reseated the FC connection and it worked.

I still need to test the evap connection after the engine is hot to see if it will open or not....and to see if I'm dumping gas through the canister. If that happens, I got the gas lines reversed.

My first tried at passing the referee wasn't sucessful.
The ECU wasn't "seeing" the EVAP system. It came back with "Not Available"
I'm going to check my wiring again. Maybe I got the wires reversed.
The second thing is that the K&N filter I got is for the 4runner instead of T100. The ref looked up the CARB number and told me it's for the wrong vehicle even though you and I know it's the same freakin' engine.
I have to get the CARB number for the T100. I've worked out a way to do it with a rep there after he reviewed the difference between the two systems. I have to send him a form for the d-cal and a picture of the K&N system installed in my truck. He'll send me the right CARB d-cal.

Put an EDM on it, and make sure you have +12 going to your MAF.
