After talking to Matt S. from K&N and explain my situation with the sticker, he'll send me the "right" decal for the T100. Awesome customer service right there!
I'll swap the 95 VSV with the one I got for the 98 with a huge charcoal box to see if that will fix the EVAP issue.

Actually, I've only been there once...ok..twice..
The first time doesn't count because they cancel the appt with out calling me.
The truck only gone through one test so far and only two things came back need "fixing".
I'd say not bad.

Today I got the "right" CARB decal for T100 from K&N along with more rubber tube and clamps. Again, GREAT customer service.
I tried rewired the Evap stuff.... so..
Batt to VSV to 5D ....still N/A on the OBDII scanner....
Maybe I have it backwards...I may have VSV pins confoooose. Pin 1 from Ign 12V . Pin 2 to ECU pin 5 Connector D. on 96 Manual T100.
Physically, it's hard to tell so I'll try the other way tomorrow....
After fixing the flat on my wife's Odyssey, appt at DMV for registration without passing smog, donate blood.....and have lunch date with my wife.

ok. After rewiring and more research, I found that my engine with 4 wires TPS is actually 95 engine. When I tried to wired with Vapor pressure sensor and the big honking charcoal canister, ECU threw about 10 error codes at me.
Now, I'm back to the original wiring with just VSV for Evap through old round charcoal canister.
I'm going back to the ref. again and telling them I have 95 T100 engine instead. I still have to use the new ECU I got for 1/2 ton 4x4 T100.
The appointment is next Monday.

.... keep your day job...You cant' beat the weather here though.
Anyway, I'm thinking of putting the 2WD 1 ton ECU back in and go to another place....but then again, he didn't even mention anything about the exhaust being on the wrong side.

I'll try to find anther Manual ECU without the EGR. I"m also gonna try the mechanic who works at the dealer to see if he can reprogram my ECU to comply or make the EGR read n/a.

What a pain in the ass to have to junkyard an ECM that has to be without EGR. Unless you find one intact that has the emissions label on it, how would you know.......assuming the motor is gone. Maybe someone here can post up their part number of their ECM that is known to not have EGR and car-part.com it??
I would ask him if he'd just let you go to a Runner ECM. Those do not have EGR on them at all.
Any other reason why you need to have the T100 ECM rather than a RUnner one?

When I first talked to a SMOG ref, he told me to look for a 4WD, extended cab Tacoma for a donor because that was the only Tacoma model that did not have EGR (the 4WD regular cab did require EGR). It may be worth looking for an extended cab, 1/2 ton T100 ECU, you never know, the same rule may apply to it as it did to the Tacoma and it may not need an EGR.
Also most (if not all) of the 4Runner ECUs did not require EGR, but I don't know what else would be different from the T100.
Good luck with the search.

Just got off the phone with the ref. He finally agrees with me that the original ECU 89661-34240, was used in other 95 model T100 besides the 1 ton model.
I have another appointment on coming Monday. I hope that he'll finally pass me.
Stay tune......

Wow, why so little? Bcuz it's at a REF and not a Test Only Station?(in combination with the fact that you've already went there and were turned away by HIS lack of knowledge?)
Curious... I hope to some day do a 1UZ swap.... Want to know all the 'finagling' required and basic requirements involved, period! haha.

I think if you get "everything" off the same vehicle, including the cat, muffler, .....fuzzy dice in the rear view mirror....then you should be ok.
They test it like a "test only" station.
They look up all the stuff that suppose to be on the vehicle you claimed it came from.
There's not a lot of "finagling" here.....It's more like ...ok, bend over, this is gonna feel different.........like that!
