What rotor are you using??
Ok guys, I’ve found plenty of post on the why’s? but I need to know the where’s.. I need to replace my front stock rotors but I don’t really know who to use.. I have no problem forking over some extra $ IF I get a good quality rotor that will perform better then stock (Drilled/slotted will probably be the best bet).
So, what have you replaced your stock rotors with? How long have they been on? Problems? Who did you use?
I’ve found anything from 122 a single rotor to 180 a pair…
Thanks,
Chris

Gadget has said that aftermarket rotors are not worth the extra money over OEM rotors, especially considering how fast the rotors warp. That's good enough for me.

I turned my OEM rotors when I did my brake job. But to answer your question, I would go with OEM rotors with performance friction pads.

1.5k thus far....
...on my Brembo's w/ Apex kevlar brake pads. I'm loving them - they stop on a DIME (way better than the stock I had, plus thier not warped!) So far, I've had great performance with this combo.
hope that helps,
aaron
ps, they were $72 each for 16" wheels from www.thepartsbin.com
- of course if you want OEM - talk with Todd at Toyota of Richardson TX!

I bought mine from www.raceconcepts.net
I've had them for about a year and I've been really pleased with them. They also were at my door in like three days. Good stuff!

amorph, you have to buy 2 of them right? it's 65 for one disc? and do you think those with OEM yota pads would work well?? are they slotted or cross drilled??? any pics??? thanks

Brembo's
I don't think you "have to" buy 2 at a time from them...but it's standard practice to replace in pairs.
I'm sure they'd work great w/ OEM yota pads!
no slots, no cross drilling, just the standard vents you'll find on OEM rotors.
I don't have any shots of the rotors themselves except one of the pads and them installed...you can't see too much of the rotors -i'll post these next....

I replaced my pads and rotors (warped, I live in the mountains) last month with all new parts from the local Napa. They are Napa/United brand rotors for $60.00 each and the pads are a semi-metallic, also from United for around $35. No shipping and I had 'em the next day. Actually, the pads were in stock and the rotors had to come up from a warehouse...It stops better now than it did when I bought the truck last year.
One more thought, don't forget to adjust the rears and bleed the lines after you get the new ones in...
