Hey Delema I'm having the same problem but i'm trying to put a efi into my 22r. All harnesses match but one. None of the color codes match except the three a main power sources. On a 22r you don't need the ecu anymore so the only plugs you need is the two leading leading from the fuse box and instrument cluster to the passenger kick panel. Are those the two your saying are different?

I have done this on my '92 truck, except I didn't want to hack into a perfect RE harness. So I built my own and everything is working just fine.
I see this an old thread, if you need assistance, reply and I'll post follow-up answers.

This is Mississippi...no one cares...as long as your windshield isn't cracked you pretty much pass...it's the good ole boy syndrome...
My husband is on his way home now so he can tell me then how he had his "special" wires and bypasses and such. Will let everyone know how it goes.

Hey. I did a swap with an efi 4runner and a carb pickup. I used The carb setup for simplicitys sake. All I did was swap out the distributor, gas tank, and intake. A lot of the stuff was pretty straight forward and it runs well.

I did this, 22R into a 1992 22RE truck. Further up in this thread is how I did it.
It's not hard, if you have wiring diagrams. The 22RE truck has all the connections where the injector harness is removed. It's only like 5 wires and everything works!

the easiest thing to do probally is to take the steering collum out, the whole dash then snake the old wiring harness out then put ur new one in wth the new computer and piece the dash all back together. This sounds like a lot of work but the dash goes togeter like a set of legos
