And swapping in a 22re is cheaper? Can you weld? can you do wiring? Do you have tools? 22r(e)s are not without problems. They are just easier to work on.

thats true too toyota 22re's have there problems but i would rather invest money into a 4 banger cause its easier to work on parts are very easy to find an i would rather have a 4 banger then a v6 which also has its problems...idk im just looking for some other things i may run into aino the welding is for the mounts because the re sits more foward then the v6 is there any other welding required???and wiring i know u have to re wire everything like in any other motor swap

most people want more power, reliability when they swap motors. A more reliable, fuel efficient and more powerful swap is the 3.4. I was able to finish mine 2100 bucks. The only welding I did was for exhuast work, as everything else besides wiring was plug and play.

i think.. like many other have realized.. rebuilding my 3vz-e will be easier to do than putting a 22r3 in it.

Just buy another truck or another 3.0 its not worth swaping 3VZE to 22RE. Its alot of work, time, and money....

I have done a few of these swaps. I make my own motor mount plates. On the ones I have done the motor needs to be moved 2in forward, 3-16 x 3in plate is great. Place the motor mount on the plate drill your 2 holes then move the mount 2in forward and drill. I weld studs on the 2 inside holes to make it better, but you can just use nuts and bolts if you want. The tranny will line up but the back driveline will need to be shortend 2in. As for the wiring goes mostly plug and play, but the alternator plug will need to be changed to the 4cyl, match the colors on the wires and you are good to go. Hope this helps. Also the body harness just plugs in to the ecu for the lights fuel pump and all that, so just remove the engine harness and leave the rest...
