3.0 to 22RE
I work on outboard motors not cars so this is a new project for me. I see people going bigger but not smaller. Have a 91 toyota pickup rv with a 3L v6 with low compression. Found a 22RE 4 cylinder motor only for dirt cheap. What frame modifications or parts would i need that arent going to be directly swappable? Mine is also an auto transmission, im not sire what the 22re is yet.

A long block 22re is the same for manual or automatic transmission. I don't know much about the 3vze but I know you'll definitely need a wiring harness and ecu. The entire intake and exhaust (at least up to the cat) would be different as well. Do you know if the engines share a flex plate and torque converter? You'll likely need a bunch of brackets and other parts to fit the 22re and have it work right so I hope you have an auto tranny 22re donor vehicle to work with.

Just about everything from the axle forward gets changed or modified.
A dirt cheep motor you say? If you can not see it run and drive it it might not be worth the asking price unless they really want to swap for dirt. Does it include the vehicle?
