Hey guys, I've got a bad 1993 Tacoma chassis with good engine looking to put it into a 1998 4Runner with bad engine. How difficult do you guys think the swap would be? Also how pricey?

I would not do that particular engine swap.

It is doable but I think it would be much more of a headache to get the older wiring harness of the 3VZ-E to match the rest of the 4Runner harness and deal with the engine differences than to simply find a good 5VZ-E replacement.

Most people go the other way and swap out a bad 3VZ-E for a good 5VZ-E. You would need to do the opposite of what everyone else would do in a typical 3.4 swap that you would see here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160/

You would be sacrificing power and fuel economy in going the way you describe.

Just so you know, the Tacoma did not come out until the 1995.5 model year, so you have what Toyota calls the "Truck" or "Pickup".

first off, the Tacoma didnt come out until late 95. and like said you dont go from a 3.4 to a 3.0 just get another 3.4

Almost legally impossible to swap older machinery into newer chassis in many of the stricter smog reg localities.
