do i need to use leaf springs?

I got a question...If I convert my 4runnr's front suspension from an IFS to a solid axle...do I have to use leaf springs? I want a coil spring suspension...kinda like the setup on this wrangler??

what would i need?

Don't we all. Oh, what do you need? A lot of welding skills.

you dont have to use leafs. leafs are typically cheaper and maybe even easier to do. there are plenty of SASed rigs that use coils and coilovers instead. check out some of the rigs at pirate starting with post 16 http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showp...9&postcount=16 and continue all through the pages

not to mention with leaf springs, your axle is always positions front-to-back and side-to-side, no panhard bars and stuff to worry about, which helps in the cost, but each have their advantages. im sure someone with more experience will chime in

Hey that Jeep is from 4 Wheel & off road Readers' Rigs a few years ago. It's a 4 banger on 37s. Sorry...go on.

Off road solutions has a coil over kit for 1st gens, don't know if that helps you or not.
good luck and give some specifics on your rig
