Another SAS Thread
Ok.... So I just finished cutting the Ifs out of my truck last night and I have a few questions. First of all can I use the ifs hubs on my 83 solid axel without much modification or any at all. Second question.... Can I use the brake calipers from the ifs on the solid axel and rotors too? Steering box.... Does this have to be moved forward on the frame or is it just preference. My hub question stems from the fact that my solid axel did not come with the Aisin hubs.... OR are those other hubs better... I have never heard a word about them... They have silver bodies with blue dials. Any other help would be great.... I'm not close to any of these offroad shops to ask questions

I'll give this a shot, first, the hubs: No. they are a different depth and a different spline count as well as diameter. I think it's a possibility if you change out to the solid axle internals, but as they are now, not happening.
Second, IFS calipers, yes, but not IFS rotors. You'll need FJ rotors, the application that worked for me when I did the brake upgrade on my '83 was for an '83 FJ60.
Third, the steering box may need to be moved, as I understand it's partly your choice in springs and axle location. So, maybe more details could clear that up for people who've actually done an SAS, otherwise nobody knows your application and if you need to move it or not.

I'm in the process of my first sas in my 4runner and wanted to use my ifs hubs for spares so i can have one with me on the trail just in case. Because of this i found out that you can indeed convert your ifs hubs by replacing inner hub gear for like $60 bucks per side rather than new ones that are way spendy. Hope this helps a little.
Here are a few links to the ones i've seen.

^This.
You can also use tacoma rotors as slip ons if you do some grinding.
EDIT: found the link

That picture of the hubs that you posted looks like factory hubs. Whats the lettering in the middle say?
