just got back from eagle meadows. WAY more snow than I thought. The pictures speak for themselves, and we still would have another mile before we even hit dirt and another 1500 feet of climb before we hit the end of the trail.

so I guess this means were gonna be hitting John's trail

The best way to discribe where we are headed is to look at the cohassett hwy. I will post a detailed map tomorrow morning. I will figure out a camp spot/meeting spot and aproximate time from end of pavement to camp asap.

ill have to think about it, a 5 hour drive is a little much for a overnight camping trip, maybe if I had more time off and could stay longer but thats just too much.

I'll just go on a closer camping trip later in the summer.

A day trip up huh? That day must be sunday... If you want to meet up here on sunday you will have to haul butt up to the fork where we camped last year as we will be doing the trail in reverse from last year. Pretty easy - up HWY 36 to paynes creek. hit up plum creek road till you hit the Ponderosa way and park it. make sure ya have your CB on so we do not leave with out ya.

Anyone wanting to make the whole trip can meet in chico and get gassed up At PDQ and then head up to cohassett.

Still working on a camping spot.

the more I think about it the more i think this way is better. kind of like we did last year on saturday with the exception of camping some where in the area that we aired down last year. This would be easier with better camping friday and we would not be as tired by the time we got to black rock on saturday evening. then hit the ponderosa out to cohassett down to chico and home.

If you like to fish, mill creek has some awesome trout fishing. if you bring a firearm, be prepared to tare down sunday when we enter the state game refuge. It is just not worth a felony charge. this map shows a gas station in Red Bluff and the route for camping.
