I am lifted 2" on 33's, so I will probably run without them, unless by some miracle the time fairy sprinkles me with an extra weekend worth of free time dust.

Thanks,

Mike

She must get it from her mom...

i hear wabbit's bikinni top is pretty nice... im pretty sure he can get it shipped to you before the run too...

hell, maybe if you talk sweet to him he might give you a discount...
Yeah she is a cute kid and definitely takes after her mom. although she has the same hair color I did as a kid
I may check out wabbits bikini top, not worried about running it in rain. i do not expect it to hold out water. Like i said if it looks like interesting weather I will leave the top on. if it looks to be sunny and 105 that dang top is coming off. trying to get around the the gas that the AC eats and the Dust that the windows let in when open.

It better be nice then, I'm getting sick of this rain! Im ordering my aussie next week, so hopefully it will be ready in time. I just took a cruise up to 7000 feet to the new closure point at sonora pass today, and there really wasnt too much snow. mostly clear with 2 1/2 foot snow drifts here and there. hopefully its the same at squaw ridge. looking forward to it! oh, and custom jerry can carrier complete

what's the snow supposed to look like up there next weekend when you go on that pre-run? dunno if i'll be able to make it for that one cuz i've now got unexpected out of state visitors, but curious anyways. last year there wouldn't be any snow really, but this year got much more snow and later in the year too. do we even know how much snow will be there for the actual trip?

something for thought...

friends of ours live up near the rubicon in the summer... they just went up there and there was 9 feet of snow on their driveway(2 miles long) and over 7 feet of snow on their deck...
and projected to get another couple inches over the weekend...

im thinking this trip is gonna be a no go...

its looking like it. i called the forest service today and Mormon Emigrant trail is still close due to snow. its now expected to open up till mid. june. even then squaw ridge will be still full of snow. I still need to get more details, but its not looking good.

While I have been chompin at the bit for this run to take place, I have a feeling that Troy might be right. 9000ft is pretty high and the weather we are getting is not a big help. At best there is 4 inches of new snow sitting on 3ft of solid ice. That makes any side hill a slip and slide. Fairy will have a better idea next weekend. anything over 2ft is still going to be there 2 weeks later. Odd winter/spring, my gramps says this is more in tune with how it was when he was a kid.

If this trail is a no go we could do the peligren that weekend if some people are up for it. The only other trip I would like to do is to go explore around the lost coast. nothin technical but lots of scenery.

Do we want to start a discussion on an alternate weekend in July for this trip? The sooner the better, so that people can plan around it?

I'm game for another location on the 12th of June. I'm itching to get the Runner out and me out of the house.

I just got the Detailed info. we needed. the whole area is blanketed in at leaste 10 feet of snow. the forestry service told me to check back in three weeks from now. they suspect the snow will be gone at that time. So if you all are interested in changing dates, speak up.

possable changing the dates could be an answer to the problem. I dont mind changing the dates. im sure some may not be able to make it. the best date i can suggest is around, the first, second, or third weekend of july. I wont be available any other time in june.

I would say, not the July 4th weekend, but the following two might work for some. I'm open either the July 10th or July 17th weekends.

10 feet, melting off in three weeks? Maybe if we get some warm weather soon. The rain is pouring down right now in Santa Rosa, roaring on the roof as I type. That is just more snow up in the mountains. Crazy spring weather, at least no water restrictions this year in Sonoma County.
