Thanks Lance. Also, was there any 2WD going? Or is everyone 4WD? The Friday run isn't advisable with 2WD. Sat. and Sun. shouldn't be too much drama, but any 2WD should definitely be following and leading people with a 4WD with recovery points in case a pull/tow is necessary.

For Saturday, everyone should meet at PSR between 9:15 - 9:45AM and plan on departing from the Shell station there at 10:00AM.

For Friday, those staying at/near PSR should meet at PSR between 8:45 - 9:00AM and plan on departing from the Shell station there at 9:15AM to head for Ballarat.

Those who want to meet up at Ballarat should be there 9:15-9:45AM, and everyone should plan on departing Ballarat by 10:00AM.

And everyone be sure to please PM Lance or email him directly @ goodtimes (at) chaosedition.com with your contact info (first/username/contact#/email). He'll complie a list and send it back out to everyone.

Is a CB needed for this trip? What good does it do? I'm just trying to figure out if I can justify spending the $100 or so.

CB's are highly recommended as this is one way to keep in touch with the rest of the group. Also there maybe sections where we will get separated due to possible dusty conditions. Having the ability to communicate with eachother will ensure that we do not lose any member out on the trails.

I think 2WD would be a huge mistake on this particular run (Pleasant Canyon/South Park loop)...steep narrow trails, loose rocks, large ruts, good chance of ice or mud, lots of off-camber stuff, especially an off-camber climb over a large rock on a turn on a narrow trail with a huge drop-off a foot or two from the side of the trail

I don't know about Lookout, though. I'll see what I can find out about it.

Anyone with 2WD should buddy up and ride with someone in 4WD, or I can try to set up an alternate run for the day for 2WD.

Run Pleasant Canyon or Lookout Mountain, sleep at PSR. (Not 2wd friendly - expect getting strapped - highly possible)

For those that absolutely cannot bring a CB, if you have an FRS radio, please bring that. At least then we can relay important information to you.

Is anyone going to be there before Friday? I definitely have to be back in LA by Sat. afternoon, and am trying to decide if I should try to salvage something by heading out to the DV area a few days earlier.

If everyone can please take a moment to look at the first post on this thread and let me know your exact arrival/departure schedule this will greatly help everyone. This way we can determine if we need to amend any of the planned itinerary accordingly.

Here's an example:
Fri night - sun night
fri morning - sun morning

If you find any errors in the information posted, let me know so I can make any necessary changes accordingly. I have almost everyone's contact information so expect an email the weekend prior to the event. It will have all of the attendee's information (name/username/veh type/email address/phone number/arrival and depaarture information) and a copy of the trip information.

Hopefully that covers everything!

Thanks

hey guys,

my new neighbor and his fiancee want to go. my neighbor is a 3 time 4runner owner and currently has a 03 4runner. he's got 4wd and ready to go!

does anyone here have a space that they can share with my neighbor? lance is in my space. they want to sleep in their 4runner, so they'll need a car space.

let me know and thanks,
bob

Bob, your wording is a bit ambiguous but I take it that one of them needs a place to ride the trails with us. I have one of my rear seats open, I need to figure out how I'm going to store some of my stuff before I can decide if the 4th seat is going to be open. My truck bed is available to them at camp since I will be using a tent.

I believe he means a campground spot. Bob, when I'm 110% certain I can't make the trip, I can relinquish my campspot to him, or share it with him if I end up making it, and adjust the cost accordingly..

ryan,

sorry re wording: they need a car space. if you rented a spot and only have 1 car, id like to konw if they could have the other car space. and they will pay you for the space.

edwin, arent you coming up w/ me on fri night?

im going to email the lady ot see if she has any more spots. ill wait a few hrs to see what happens.

thanks!
bob

Hey Pierre:

Would it be possible for me to share a spot with you instead so Bob and his neighbor can share the camp site together?

Thanks!
