Sense I’ve never been to Tellico I have some questions.

1. Is Tellico a dry place (can I bring beer)?
2. Are there places to get gas after each run or do I need to bring some 5 gallon cans?
3. Do I need to reserve a camping spot at Crawford’s? If I do, do I need to even if I plan to sleep in my rig?
4. Is there anything special you guys think I should know about Tellico?

Also if anyone has this setup (BJ spacers and FJ80 coils) what shocks are you using.

I can’t wait this is going to be awesome.

1. The county is DRY and the ORV park is BUT the Campground is NOT. So bring your beer and drink at camp but not on the trails.
2. Fill up in Murphy before heading in...athough there is a pump of 87 at the campground and 15 or so miles away (hanging dog road) at outragous prices.
3. Certainly preferred...but I'm hoping to pop a tent with others. Guess I better take my own advise.. Anyone got room?
4. Just bring you and your rig and $5 a day for a trail pass..there are many levels of trails(sliders help for most at a minimum)

Cant comment on the shocks.. hope this helps.

EDIT: Mark you beat me too it, now i just feel like a fool for typing so much.

Yotaman, (drop a name so we can get to know that before the run and avoid the strange screen name introdutions)

I'll attempt to answer your questions since I'm still up @ 12:30 and will be up well into the morning.

1.) Drinking at Crawford is fine, it's privately owned but the surrounding area is a dry one. Bring all the beer you want, just make sure to purchase it ouside of Murphy, preferably at home because I'm unsure what other counties surround might be dry as well.
2.) Yes there is a place right at Crawfords to get gas, bare in mind it's a bit steep, but it's accessable none the less, you can drive all the way back to town if you want to save a few cents. Just bring cash to pay Steve for the gas and camping fees. Free air is also available at Crawfords, so when your ready to head home it's easy to get air before any extended asphalt travel.
3.) As for a site, it wouldn't hurt to reserve a spot, but I'm sure there will be enough room already reserved for us there. Most sites can sleep 3, if you plan on sleeping in your rig that's fine but there should be groud area if you change your mind. Whoever's site you crash on you can just help them split the cost, or you can reserve a spot and pimp out your free area to help compensate the price. Just call and ask Steve to reserve a spot with the 4Runner group.
4.) BE PREPARED TO HAVE FUN, and BECOME ADDICTED, to the area, the people from YT, and the sport as a whole. Tellico has a way of doing that to us all. On a serious note, just take it slow and listen to your spotter, we have alot of great people that will make this place seem so much easier than it should be.

As for the lift, I'll leave that to someone with a 1st or 2nd gen, I've got bling bling coilovers and I'm not all that educated on set-ups like yours. I would recomend Bilstien shocks for any 4Runner set-up or OME if they're offerend for 2nd gens. Pricey but worth it.

When I reserve a spot do I inform them I’m with the yotatech group or do I just say I need a camp spot? Do I need to bring wood for the big camp fires?

Greg glad to have you along and part of the YT community. The name is Scott, it's okay we were half way down the trails before the people in my group knew my name last time. I'm planning on splitting with whoever has room. Last time I reserved a spot and ended up in Tellico cabins instead. So this time I'm just playing the homeless hippie role. Bring cash for the whole trip, that way you can pay Steve and whoever you split with alot easier. I made that mistake, and had to pay pal people money after the trip.

Good to meet you (online that is) Scott.

Just for conversation sack. I say a for sale ad online for Crawford’s Camp. I think the price was 300,000, man if I had that kind of extra cash it would be sweet to own and operate a camp like that.

I’m going to start a new thread for this but what kind of parts did you guys break last year.

Close call yesterday

My wife and I had to go to a funeral yesterday in Crossville, TN and it rained all day.

We got off the Interstate and was driving through town - 100 yards in front of me the light turned yellow and I started slowing down - every time I touched the brake - the runner would slide and turn side ways - I slid through a very busy intersection locked up and sideways !!!!!

No damage but it scared the crap out of both of us ! I found out later that the town has had 12 accidents at this intersection in the last 3 days - a previous wreck had caused a diesel spill - It was worse than ice !!! I thought my 4 runner days were over. I modded my seat with some nice pucker spots

ME TOO !!!! Stuff like that takes years off your life. I layed into the horn when I seen that I could do nothing about it. I stopped at the next parking lot and said a little thank you prayer !!!!! I've not been that scared in years. I'm glad that we were not on the motorcycle - that could have been BAD.

Probably just driving through.."Beasley Knob trail system"..not too many trails left around at least that are legal and open. Most have been closed down. (Amicalola, Anderson creek, Rich Mtn., ect..)

I still think its faster for us to take 26 and head down from the north. I could be wrong, but it was a pretty easy trip last time.
