Well I think I'm gonna have to pull out. :-( The cash needed to pay for gas there, wheelin, back, food, and camping is just not materializing for me right now. Guess I shoulda held out on that new bike! :-/

Brenton's sas'd rig will have to just represent IN this year. *sigh

My winch beeeotch just dropped out due to family commitments. So I will be inviting anyone that wants to ride shotgun to jump in with me.

I'm not a hammerhead driver, more finesse so no worries

If anyone wants to commit to riding up SlickRock with me on Friday morning that would be great. Same with Guardrail and Helipad on Saturday.

I'm not worried, I figgered Stump would jump in there somewhere, he's more than welcome to ride as much as he would like.

It certainly isn't slowing us down in the planning or dampening any spirits that's for sure. I'm getting butterflys in me gut now it's getting so close.

Yeah I know, but I'm almost 99% sure the funds just won't be there at that time. I have to start a cookie jar fund to start saving for tires it seems like, $25 here and there every pay check until I get $600 or so for a new set. oh the joys of being in college still working full time and being broke as hell.

Jutty, I'm not sure if Chris was counting on me or not to ride along and take pictures. But I think we have 4 drivers going up #8 to watch the Slickrock adventure unfold. I'm bringing a buddy of mine that wants to ride along and help all he can as well, so there's no shortage of people willing to get everyone over these trails. I would be more than happy to be your winch man, just as long as I can get some good shots for the camera .

i understand, but you'd better save a little more... more like $900 for a set of 4 with tax and mounting and road force balance.

Oh no, I'm going el chepo tires, no $200 a peice MT/Rs for me. We're talking either Dunlop Mud Rovers, or Firestone Destination MTs.

Doink(Mike right?), glad to see your going to be there, we just assumed you, Mark, and Paul would just show up. Hey Mike you want to test theat mud hole out for us again?

Thanks Stump! I'll have a video camera to pass out to someone that wants to run one as well.

Sounds like there should be plenty of help

Ive heard nothing but praise about the Destination MTs...

Seeing as I won't have a rig to wheel, I'll definitely be riding! Ive got a 8.2MP @ 5 frames a second with a 23 frame burst. Oh, and a handycam, so I'm ready to shoot! Oh... let me upload the vid. Finally got it to something reasonable...

only down side that i've heard about them is the on-road treadwear. they don't seem to last as long as the MT/R's, but make up for that in price i guess....

about damn time you got it uploaded... slacker!

I guess Doc can ride with his neighbor Chris and I'll ride shotty with Jutty and take care of whatever I can for him.

The Destination MTs do have a bad rep with wearing down, that is my only qual there, but I simply can not afford the $200+ MT/Rs. I've seen MT/R wear supper fast as well, haven't been very impressed with them on ym buddy's Rubicon, less than 20K on something that light and they're almost gone. Andy could you snap a few shots of your tires tread, with say a ruller or a coin in them, the shots of your bumper damage with the tires didn't give me a good idea.

Now where's that video, don't be such a tease.

well, w/ the way i see it, the MT/R's are cheaper...

$900 for MT/R's on the truck and out the door
Drive on them for about 35k miles
Sell them for about $200 on YT or eBay
$700 investment lasted 35,000 miles, for a cost of about $1 for every 50 miles

I'll be driving my own rig - up and around to walk down the slickrock trail.

From the sounds of it, we'll have plenty of front seats to occupy for Slickrock. I would really like someone to use my video camera, though, if at all possible. It's going to be great!

We will play it by ear until the time comes - I may ride but I would like to wheel my rig before the crowd gets there. I imagine that Saturday is going
to be like rush hour traffic - bumper to bumper

We're going to run Slickrock early on Friday, so if we're lucky, we'll be the first ones on it. Traffic shouldn't be any problem.
