With your lift and tires you should be ok... with cautious driving.....and listening to spotters.....now I cant say your gas tank skid wont take a lick or two. Mine always seems to find THAT rock.

Marc, what's done to the 85 or is it top secret?

How many slickrock attendees are there now?

I'm guessing that pretty much everyone will be going together on Friday to at least the slickrock turnoff?

The manual says the front pinion bearing can be replaced with out taking the 3rd member off so I might give it a try this weekend or next week if I have time.

I’m doing a write up on the cruiser coil and BJ spacer lift. I hope to install everything this weekend. Anyone want to help ? I have Corona .

I forgot to select the color brake line i wanted when I checked out at marlin so I got red . I’ll just have to put some black plastic electrical stuff around it. So remember when ordering from marlin you must select the color unless you want them to send you the one you don’t want.

EDIT: I meant to say BJ Spacer in the image where it says Diff Drop.
I PM'ed ya. My weekend opened up.

Is any one planning on trying guardrail ?? Is there a damage free easy way to get there? I'd like to see some action up there.

WOW, will didn't know the solid axel was in the near future for you. I've heard the idea but never thought it was coming up so soon in your plans. Awsome, can't wait to see it, Mad Mike going to help aid in the swap?

Jutty, I can't wait to be your winch whore. Never thought I would be happy to ride shotgun in an 82' anything, but I'm ready for this.

I reserved a spot through email so whoever wants in on that can have at it.

Also, hopefully the car fixer uppers will be done with this b4 the trip, all they are waiting on is the dash they had to order (yep, went about half a foot through the dash too!) They already have the windshield replaced so I think even if they aren't done im gonna take it from the shop, but hopefully they will be.

Enjoie (these are from the storm last week)

As did I, but I jsut left them off, a little body lean never hurt anyone. But as soon as I can afford some I'll be getting them just for those emergency situations when body sway is a bad thing.

Okay I really want to take that ledge at Fain's Ford. I've watched some video of Chris taking it and I would really like to attempt it. Do you think it's possible with 265s, or will I just be asking for problems? I was also thinking about taking off my rear bumper there on Thursday just to eliminate the one part I drug over almost everything last trip. Lets hear some input from the guys who have been there more than once.

Talking

Here’s an update on the things I’ve done to the rig in preparation for Tellico.

Installed with the help of Zman (marc) and his neighbor:

  • FJ80 Rear Coils
  • Downey Pan Hard Drop Bracket
  • Marlin Extended Rear Brake Line
  • Rancho 9000 Shocks (Rear = RS99009 & Front = RS99272)
  • Ball Joint Spacers
  • Bleed Brake System
Things still to finish:

  • Replace Idler Arm Bushings
  • Rebuild Passenger Side CV Axle
  • Get an Alignment
  • Get BFG Muds Mounted
  • There’s probably more I just can’t think of .
Here’s a link to some pictures of the new found articulation (those are 235’s).
http://www.boagregg.com/4runner/

There’s a good amount of articulation to be gained if I trim the gas tank a little. I’m going to let the tank run low before I do that.

Thanks again marc and if you would thank neighbor Greg and tell him I said it was nice to meet him.
