There's a Idea ! I'm bringing my trailer loaded with firewood.

How much taller is a 33 tire compared to a 31 ? Is it 2"

UHHH, YEAH.

1" Taller ride height for the truck. 2" taller overall height for the tire.

I think it is about time to designate some traile leaders...looks like we will need at least 3 groups, maybe 4 or 5, just depends on who shows up.

I know Zman and Ravencr can lead a group...anybody else know the trails well enough? I'd like to get a general idea then nail this down Friday night around the fire and a few

I agree, I mentioned it a few pages back and nominated a couple of people. But since I dont know who has the most experience, its hard to decide.
may have to draw straws!

Be prepared to wait to get those mounted in Murphy. When I bought that spare wheel from Andy last time-I tried getting the spare tire mounted-it was about a half day wait at Wal Mart and everywhere else was closed. I ended up getting some hillbilly to do it-but it was a scary place-I made Brandy stay in the truck with the doors locked! If you bring them, try to drop them off somewhere with the wheels on Thursday afternoon and maybe they'll be ready by Friday afternoon and you can wheel them on Saturday. I got the lighter knots for fire starter.

bad thing is that if i do make it, i'll be installing my front diff and rear third there... not like it's hard or anything, just time consuming.
New gears? Have any break in miles on those things?

And a cardboard box to cover that noisy thing I hope! I could probably lead a group if need be. If Chris leads a group to Slickrock, then I could lead a group that follows them to trail 8 and the turnoff to Slickrock and then my group could go around 8 (not moving any rocks to get off the trail this time) to the top of Slickrock. We will avoid the mud lake this way, but it is much longer this way around.

I can definitely take a group on Saturday.....gotta find a new CB mic...found out weekend before last that its got a horibble squeal.....but then again I will probably be driving the 85 all weekend . .. that is if it makes it through Friday....If not, then it will be the 96. Either way Im game for leading...(and I will stay off the ATV only trails this time)

Doc, I would love to have your CB for this trip, and I've already got a 4' antenna. I just don't have a clue how to mount or install one, though.

Ernie, you are more prepared than me to run slickrock, especially with the natural clearance that your truck has over mine. Larger tires, etc. Let's do it together man! It's going to be awesome!

Brett, if you go up the long way around 8 you'll never meet us on Slickrock, plus you'll miss all the fun stuff coming up the other way on 8. Steve said the last time we were there that the mud hole was first on their list to fix, so hopefully you guys can go up the other way and have a ton of fun.

I'll be lucky to get all my stuff done before this trip. Wish me luck!

Chris

I'm all for whatever it takes to get to Slickrock, top or bottom. As long as it doens't involve having my Runner swallowed in the mud hole. To my knoedge it's still there and worse, I think somewhere someone posted on here that it's worse and was taking Jeeps on 39s and swallowing them up.

I'll follow either Brett or Mark, would love to go with Chris and learn from him, but I can't even consider Slickrock, I really enjoyed the ride with them last time and trust their insight on good lines and driving tips. Mark, I didn't know you had an 85, do you have a pic. of it?
