Chris

Daylight or earlier, hummm?

Looks as if you will be doing all hard stuff on Friday, maybe I should ride along that day instead of driving? Man, I would love to see those obstacles from inside a rig!

Also wanted to pass a few things along...I pulled these from TTORA-GA

"The hole on top of slickrock is worse now. It sucked up jeeps on 37s and 42s. If I were you and didn't what to lose an electrical device I would stay out of it."

"You can get to the top of slickrock without going through the GIANT hole. When you cross Fains Ford take the first trail to the right it will be a VERY HARD right. This is the long way around but a trail everyone should be able to do. Trail 8 is just a big loop and Trail 9 (aka SlickRock begins and ends on trail 8 every one goes to the top of SlickRock the end of trail 9 and walks down. I would suggest sitting at the top with motors off and see if you can hear people down there before going down. The walk back up is a ROYAL PITA."

Here is a new and better map from the Carolina trailblazers. http://www.carolina-trailblazers.org/tellico1.jpg

Well, I just don't like getting out at 11:00 like we have in the past, because that's a lot of lost time on the trails. I'm game to leave at 7:00 am if everyone else is. Not everyone would have too, but maybe our harder group should to prevent traffic problems out on the trails.

Brett, I would love to have you as a passenger. Stump was talking about coming along too, but who knows at this point. Both of you are more than welcome to join me!

Thanks for the link with the Map! I'm looking for GPS coordinates to plug into my system and this will help with some of that.

I'm game for leaving early too Chris. If we can get on 1 by 8:30 headed to 6 or whatever for SlickRock we should be fine.

Weather is gonna be the key IMO.

I agree completely. I think the best plan of action would be to have the most capable rig go first, then possibly me(without a winch), and then someone with a winch, etc. and just alternate in case someone needs help. Does that sound good to you?

Nah...We'll winch you up after the second attempt anywhere you want a cable. No breaky, breaky. We have you covered.

We are both bringing our video cameras so if someone wants to run one, just holler.

Sounds fantastic guys! I can't wait. I should have a completely flat undercarriage, and possibly a completed rear bumper by them. I wasn't going to tell everyone, not that anyone really cares, but I purchased an ARB front locker, but I can't find anyone with rear V6 5.29 gears. I sure wish I could find them before the trip, because I'm sure it would help tremendously on Slickrock.

I'm good to leave at 7 AM, it'll be like school never ended for me. I'll ride with anyone and pull cable whenever needed. Just give me shoty in one of these rigs going up and I'll be a happy man. Plus it'll be a good learning experiance to wheel with your guys and learn how to pick good lines, ect.

As for what they are talking about on TTORA, I can attest that they are talking about does not work(if it's the trail 'm thinking of, the hard right after Fain's Ford), that is the trail that Brett, Doc, Mark, Paul and I took, and it has become a ATV only trail, very tight and no way for 4x4s to make it through. Someone from my group correct me if I'm wrong if that is not the trail they are reffering too. I thought the hole was on #8 headed to Slickrock. Unless I'm just really confuesd .

Chris the name is Scott, just to avoid those weird introductions around camp.

Oh yeah, more than just narrow. I still have tree scars from that trail alone, and when we finally got to a water crossing, where the bridge was obviously to small, we met some guys on ATVs that said the trail had recently been made into an ATV only trail. So someone clear this up for me.
