Done, me, you, and Doc will go around 8 the long way on Friday and whoever else wants to come. Chris, if you guys are the first rigs at Slickrock, you'll beat us to the top? or not?

If you guys leave the same time we do, you should be able to meet us at the top about the sametime we get to slickrock.

Congrat's Doc! How funny, Vince and I were doing the exact same thing about 400 miles North of you guys last night. Welding on Stubb's Sliders.

We had a few though to go with a heavy dose of grinding and welding

Thanks - the sliders look great and are long over-due - now I can wheel and not worry so much - not that actually worried before !!!!! I had a few beer's before I got there and one more during the job. Chris and Paul were trying to get the skid plate for the rear fuel tank figured out - we were jumping between my runner and Chris's all evening. I enjoyed it !

Sounds like fun. Are you guys making your gas skid? Or did you find one online?

Chris bought the steel and had it pre-bent in a press for the angles. I'm not
sure where - he will probably jump in here shortly. Chris and Paul put their heads together and figure it out as they go. Chris already has done his own rear bumper with one wing - the other side is coming. Chris is trying to acheive a flat under-belly with nothing to hang on and he is almost there.

Rumor has it that he purchased an ARB for the front and he already had the E-locker in the rear. My rig will never match up -until I get something else to drive - My 1990 is still my daily driver simply because it is paid for - a long time ago. I HATE PAYMENTS !!!! I can afford to spend money on my rig because of the lower insurance payments ( liability only ) and no payment book. I have a new engine / rebuilt transmission / etc - all paid for and I drive this thing usually 100 miles per day. Can you say
THANKS TOYOTA ? I can.

Yup, Thanks Toyota!! Since I chose this as my DD also and no payments my wife has been very, very cool about getting it built up. Oh the benefits of no monthly payments rule IMO.

That's very cool Doc

Cool Picture !
I will not be trying that anytime soon - although I think that my runner is capable. I've got to get some larger tires - currently on 31's - ground clearnance is the problem. My transfer case for the V-6 also has a knot
on the aft end that protrudes towards the ground - that is my hang point !

The 4 cylinder transfer case does not have this knot - many have said that I could swap to a 4 cylinder transfer case but I just don't know ?
Once this runner becomes a trail only rig - then maybe. If I swap to a bud built cross member - I still would only gain 3/4 - 1" at best. Everything has
it's limits.

Yeah, the reason behind it is that the trails are going to be so busy that weekend that they may not have a chance to do it. the lees crowded the better on obstacles like that.

So........ you coming or what?

You coming Mike ? Looks like the party of the year already.

The early group is going to try Slickrock Friday morning and hope for less congestion - Tellico is going to be crowded as hell - we have 30 rigs coming and there is a swap meet the same weekend at Crawfords. We may need Mace for the 4 wheeler riders - you know how pissy they can get.

Chris, Brett and I will be in Crawfords by late Thurday afternoon - several others have said that they are trying to make it - so we will be wheeling on Friday morning.

im still debating on going. at this point, if i go, i think i wont drive. my car has been acting rediculous. plus, with 30 rigs or so, congestion will be rediculous. perhaps i could ride shotgun with someone if i do.

My spotter is now a maybe (he's in his mid 40s and has life commitments) so most likely I will be looking for someone to ride shotgun. But not sure yet. If I have an open seat, someone can jump in with me no worries.
