All pro u-bolt flip kit

Hey all, gots another question for ya.

Email'd All Pro this morning about the possibility of a u-bolt flip kit for my T. They wrote back saying they had never tried to put the kit on a T100. So my question is has anyone tried putting the tacoma kit on? I'd be really curious to see how it would work on my truck. I know I've already hit a u-bolt or two on the rocks, and I have a nice wheeling trip coming up in mid-october to head down to Farmington, New Mexico. I'd like to get the truck a little more off road friendly before me and my bro (98_3RZ) hit the trails down there...

on a side note, the little bro-ha is going to be starting T-TEN in october! Same school I went to, but he'll be doing his apprentice program at boulder toyota. (insert proud big bro smiley here)

-edit- Just got the email back from all pro, and they said that the tacoma kit will fit. gonna be ordering it shorly.

Measure the OD of the axle tube at the spring perch, if ~3", the u-bolts should fit. Then check the width of the perch, if it is the same as the springs (2-3/8" - 2-1/2" wide) then the spring plate should fit.

I measured my U-bolts and email'd the specs to all pro. they said their the same size as a tacoma, so their kit will work. hopin to possibly order this weekend...

The T100 housing is 3.25" and I know the standard 79-95 Trail Gear kit fits just fine. Be aware that the shock on the driver side might need the mount extended about 1.5", at least that's what I had to do.

I checked the all pro kit about 6 inches inboard of the stock u-bolt location. its a little tight, but looks like it should work. I'm also going to be re-doing the rear lift on my truck, by removing the AAL and putting in a Toytec 2 inch tacoma shackle. Should be fun. Here are the shackles:

I'm sitting at work looking at this pile of parts sitting on my tool box, itching to get it up on a lift and start and

Alright. For the record, being at work, doing nothing, is boring as hell! So, what do I do when i'm bored? I work on the truck! Finally got the A/P U-bolt flip, along with my Toytec Shackles. Took a little longer to put them on than I expected (almost 4 hours, even with a lift) but overall, i'm much happier with them than the AAL.

The new shackles, installed.

New shock mounts, welded on and painted. Not the best looking welds, but eh...

The rear, all bolted together, with the All Pro U-bolt flip kit. Slight note, the u-bolts that I got from All Pro were just a hair too tight, so a little bit of squeezing with some mega lock jaw pliers did the trick.

And here is the end result! I haven't been able to stuff a tire into the wheel well like that since it was stock!

And here's the droop!

And just cause I could, I had to park next to a 2010 4Runner. I'm Taller!

looks good, sure hope you drained the rear axle before welding on it!

Nice work, booger welds just like mine, well probably better

I can not believe how many T100's there are running around my areA, they are retaining their value extremely well

I did drain it, but forgive my welding stupidity. Why would this be an issue?

You would be boiling the oil in the axle housing behind the area you are welding. This is bad for numerous reasons such as loss of viscosity, potential for fire, increase in volume forcing oil out the vent, etc. The main thing is it ruins the oil in the housing and the heat absorption of the oil would not allow the metal of the housing to get hot enough for a good penetration weld. You don't want the shock housing to snap off the first time you hit a deep pothole!

well like I said, I drained mine, but that's just cause the fluid was dirty. I was just wonderin cause i've seen the guys I work with move spring perches, and alot of the time, they aren't draining the housing.

Oh and OC, I doubt there better. Only been welding about a year now lol. Dont stop me from trying!
