Stock clutch replacement

While the engine is out i am replacing the clutch assembly. I had planned on the Marlin 1200# kit, but at what point would the 1600# be needed.
I am running 255/85R16's with ball joint spacers and 2wd rear main leaf.

I will pull a 16ft aluminum bass boat occasionally and maybe a trailer with 2 ATV's

Land around these parts is pretty flat.

Clutches are a personal choice some people can go 200,000 miles on one clutch .

Then others need to replace the same clutch after one year 5,000 miles of driving.

The 1600 pound pressure plate is really for the higher demands of Rock Crawling since the 22rec is not a power house it is seldom used as a Tow vehicle

If you have the extra few dollars and feel you want one go for it.

As these are hydraulic clutches the pedal effort should be the same never having had one I really can`t say

If your going with a heavy duty clutch don`t skimp Go with a new Flywheel as well

My boat is fiberglass and am sure it is heavier then yours. I just use a stock Aisin clutch and does well for me. I also have to deal with some hills. One boat ramp I use is steep and dont feel that with a heavier clutch would keep me from slipping the clutch. I will smoke the clutch in 2 high. When I use that steep ramp I just use the Low Range in my transfer case and dont lock in the front hubs and it pulls up it just fine. I use my first gen runners with the 22re 5 speed set up.

Ramp is steeper then it looks and my boat is 17 foot. I wont win any races but it does fine for what I want to do with it. When towing the boat I never use 5th gear. I have a 4x8 trailer that I pull all the time with it and it has pulled ATVs well with it.
