meh, i don't like that kit. that uses halogen hi beams. it's not good to be switching back and forth from hi's to lo's with HID/halogen setups. it drastically reduces the life of the HID, as it needs to properly cool down before you re-ignite it.

the kit i got is bixenon. (HID hi and lo beams) i also got a kit for my fogs. you can see them here: https://www.yotatech.com/50703483-post27.html

i had to modify the fog light shields in order to fit the longer bulb in, and i used hella 200mm glass e-code housings for my headlights. the pattern is decent, and the light output is amazing. mine are 6000k, both headlights and fogs.

hey your's look great! if you don't mind me asking: how much did they cost for the headlights?

also, would they work with the runner style headlights?

I have a similar kit (same bulbs, different name on the ballast). The HID lows stay lit when the highs are used.

are the 4runner headlights the same as the pickup's? stock are sealed beam H4 style lenses on my pickup. i'm not familiar with 4runners. however, you can get the kit that i got with any bulb base to fit the wiring in your vehicle. as for a cutoff, i can't say, as i haven't seen the same kit as mine in 4runner headlight housings (unless they're the same as the pickup's)

depends on what kind of bulb your fogs take. mine are h3, so i got h3 based bulbs, and modified the shield to accept the longer HID bulbs. your application may vary.

ah, i'd still prefer to have the HID high's. they're incredible. however, it's good to know that the HID's in yours don't constantly get turned on and off. that will prolong bulb life. my HID highs light up so much, it's really pretty ridiculous.

for what it's worth, the kit i got was made by a chinese company called Easysee. sounds cheesy, but they're pretty good quality.

for those of you thinking of ANY ebay special diamond cut headlights, just don't. all you'll do is blind other drivers with your terrible light pattern. safety is key here, as the HID's will literally disorient people if you have them adjusted improperly, or use crappy lenses that scatter the light rather than pinpoint it to where you want with a sharp cutoff.

no problem.

i got it through a group buy on supramania.com (i'm a supra owner, and the mk3's take the same h4 style sealed beams as my pickup)

i think i paid about $300 total, shipped to my door. maybe a bit less.

small price to pay for exemplary lighting, in my opinion. i'll most likely never go back to halogens for headlights.
