Side marker lights not working

2000 Toyota 4runner
The left and front side marker lights are not working. Brand new bulbs. The fuse seems to be fine....is this the correct fuse (Head (Hi RH, Head Hi LH)?
Honestly not sure if they have ever worked. All other lights work fine

I don't think your side marker lights run off of the headlight fuses, maybe you should try the running light fuse or maybe it's called the "park lamp" fuse.

I'll check that tonight. I thought it could also be under parking lights?

Doing research on the web they say that it is tied into the 10 amp tail fuse. It looked fine, switched with a brand new 10 amp fuse........same thing no left or right side markers. I am going to look for corrosion in the sockets tomorrow and look at the power coming out of those sockets.

Red face

If your tail lights are still working corroded sockets or physical damage to the wires

Look into corrosion around the socket, Mine would not work until I got all of the corrosion off. I used some electrical contact and a wire brush to get mine working.

why don't you use a test light or a volt meter to check for power at the fuse?
Sometimes I just have to ask the simple things, like... Did you turn the headlight switch on to the first click?

Ok. Tail lights are working.

akwheeler I am a simple man.............thank you for the simple solution! I turned to the headlights to one click. The side marker lights are on. Good news. Maybe I am a total nut, but aren't the side marker lights supposed to blink with the turn signal? I guess that is what I have spent time on. Didn't even think about the side marker light being on when the lights were on.

Thanks folks, I feel better already!

NO, the turn signals on almost all vehicles are separate from the park lamps/side markers.

Please help me! Do your side marker lights blink with the turn signal? We are running into the same issue, I think?

Side marker lights Should not blink

Side marker lights Should not blink with turn or hazard signals, UNLESS you have a wiring problem OR they have been modified (like I did with mine )

Don't ask your vehicle to do something it was not made for............I thought my marker lights would blink when i flipped the turn signal. Not the case. Unless you modify it like somebody else mentioned.
