electrical porblems
ive got a 1980 toyota 4x4 pickup thats flatbedd with led lights as signals and brake and running lights in the bed only..problem one when i turn the signals on they dont flash they just stay solid unless i manualy move the blinker up and down
problem 2 i just cam across today..i replaced my odomiter with one from a sr5 with a tach and shortly after letting it run i noticed my brake light in the cluster slowly dimming a little bit then comming back...then wouldnt start unless jumped checked battery and when i jump it its runs fine everything works.then when i turn it off the lights still work and what not but when i start it its goes "CLICK" then nothing no power at all not lights or anything...what could it be?the new tach? the battery or alternator? i know i wrote a lot but some help would be nice thanks

1. How are the tail lights wired? Did you use diodes or a trailer light converter to handle the conversion between the Toyota wiring and that of the tail lights? Did the turn signals ever work after the swap? Also, will need to do one of: A. add a load resistor across the turn signals, or B. modify the stock flasher relay or C. install a heavy duty solid state flasher to make the turn signals flash at normal speed.
2. Test alternator and battery.

it was like this when i got it,there is one wire off each light that appears to run to a connector right under the passanger side seat where there is six wires that hook up to the original wiring for the brakes and what not.
the alternator and battery are fine now there was a loose wire on the alternator.
thanks for the info man

Might check out a trailer wiring converter, that will probably solve your problem:
This will separate out and combine the Toyota wires into what your typical trailer lights (which is what mostly gets used to add to flat beds) uses.
