Brake Light Help

How do you disconnect the cables connecting the brake lights to the car's wiring? There seem to be some "buttons" that you need to push in in order for the cables to be released, but they barely budge.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Hit it with your high heel then too while saying "schtop it!"

:wabbit2:

PS its just a clip/plug and has probably been together since the car was built. Try some electronics cleaner and pull.

Red face

:jessica::jessica: i am confused are you talking about the plugs on the rear lights.

You never want to hit them with your purse the purses break way to easy and it is so embarrassing when all the contents fly all over the ground.

silicone spray works wonders on stuck plastic plugs.

So I finally got the plugs out! There was this clip hidden under the outer plastic coating that I didn't notice..

Anyways, next problem! haha

This is the end off the car's wiring that leads to the brake lights:

And this is the end of the wiring leading to the replacement brake lights I ordered:

It's obviously different from the stock ones, so my question is if there is some sort of adapter I can buy to make the connection work?

Why not take the wires off the old lights and put them on the new ones you bought?

You should be able to buy those plugs in any auto/DECENT electrial store. Just swap the plug or if you really want to keep it original use the plug from the original lights to make an adaptor
