Red Interior Lighting

So a custom lighting question:

I do a lot of driving at night (usually for basketball), and when I need to look at something in my car at night (like my keys for example) it's always a pain in the ass. The stock lighting with my truck is decent, but it doesn't get the job done.

I came across these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-RED-L...8fe156&vxp=mtr

Now these I believe replace the pre-existing bulbs which is what I don't want. I'm looking to create that "red glow" effect you see in the preview of the item, except with separate lighting ~ preferably battery-powered.

Has anyone ever tried something like this before? If it's possible to light up my front seat like this, I may extend it to the back seats and cargo section as well, as it would really help me out.

Check here. I don't know what year truck you have or any other details, but these guys have great bulbs and LED upgrades too. I'm sure you can find what you're looking for here.

Thanks for the info. I may end up just replacing the existing ones if I can find bulbs that replace the pre-existing ones in my '93 4Runner...

Anyone know where I can find those? I'm looking to replace the 2 lights in the front, the one in the middle, and the one by the tailgate/cargo section.
I'm still unsure if the bulbs I posted originally will fit my truck..they seem to have an adapter, but I need another opinion.

I assume you're talking about the bulbs in your cargo lights. I'm not sure what build those are so I'm not going to be much help. I know that site I posted has just about any bulb you could need in almost any color so when you find out what bulbs you have you can find it there. I upgraded my dash lights with LEDs from them and they look awesome.

You might want to look into doing the deck light mod on your Runner also. That'll help get more light.

on my 95 4runner, i just replace the bulb with a high power led light bulb, and for the cargo area, i put the recon bed light strip which lights up the whole truck on mine. heres their website, they have really good stuff! http://gorecon.com/

A website I found listed these for the light bulbs:

Map light
DE3022
Step/Courtesy light
DE3175
Step/Courtesy light
DE3021
Step/Courtesy light
DE3022
Trunk/Cargo area
DE3175
I'm assuming the Map Light is the front two lights by the driver and front passenger, and the trunk/cargo is obvious, but why are there 3 bulbs for the "Step/Courtesy" light? I'm assuming this is the light above the rear seated passengers but I swear I just checked yesterday and there was only one...

Anyways, if possible, I'll probably grab 4 red versions of these since they seem to fit all 3 types of bulbs I require:

Give me some feedback folks. Will they fit?!

How do I get to the map lights? The two lights above the driver and passenger seat.

No idea how to open them up.
