would weight matter

hey guys just wondering what yall would think. its about tires again. i have t-birds 31-12.50-15 bias 63 lbs per tire. i have 4.56 gears. i need to get rid of these bias tires b/c they are driving me crazy. but dont have money to regear. my rims are 15x10. so i thought about pro comp 31-12.50 48lbs and ssr 31-12.50 63 lbs, or i thought about go to a 32-11.50 and getting the bfg m/t 50 lbs and the kuhmo kl71 32-11.50 52 lbs. so my ?????? is should i stay with the 31 and heavy tire or 32 and lighter tire. any help or reviews thanks

any of those tires would be fine for the 4.56 gears, if it were me id go with the 32s i had 32s with stock gears on my runner when i bought it and ran it two more years like that before lifting it more. it ran fine. now i run 35s with 5.29s wich also work good for the street.

Get rid of the Thornturds to start with, and yes, weight is a big player in how your truck acts. Especially when it's in the tires or wheels.

Heavier tire weight is more rotating mass, takes more energy to turn them. The lighter the better for fuel consumption and power. Heavier tires take more energy to stop as well, so lighter tire equals less brake wear and shorter stopping distances.

Sell rims and tires and start over.

10" rims + Toyota IFS = no bueno

Get 7" or 8" wide rims and stay 10.50 on the tires (31x10.50 or 33x10.50)

the 15x10 with the 31-12.5-15, i havent had a prob with except the tires. i have an auto trans. so 33-10.50 wouldnt be a good idea ( i dont think but im new to all this ) its a d/d right now i get about 12-14 mpg. so bottom line what do you guys think .sell rims and buy 8" rims and 10.50 tires. or something different . why is a 15 x 10 so bad just asking thanks guys

10" wide sucks if you ever plan on airing down your tires.

I run 33x13.5's on 8" wide rims.

Holding the bead when airing down, and they make the fitment issues of wider tires worse.
