Rubber Mats for recovery?

What do you think of these types of rubber mats for recovery?

Or what do you use, carpet, rocks, etc?

Thanks
Bill

not sure what your question is, but I've seen people use a t-shirt or other clothing over a winch cable to keep it from snapping back at either vehicle/people.

Winch and a Hi Lift would be better!

I wouldn't spend money on recovery floor mats.

The only thing comparable I've ever seen comparable is the Xtrax mats
http://www.bushranger.com.au/x_trax_ii.php
They say there designed for maximum traction in sand, mud, and snow.

I don't know about you, but I don't spend enough time in either terrain to worry about rubber mats. If I'm in either of the 3 terrains, I'm sure I'll have someone to give me a tug with a strap.

Compact snow/ice, minor cant get traction to get moving type of stuck, mats like those can work wonders, it is amazing what just a pair of cheap floor mats can do for traction on ice.

In other conditions, other afore mentioned options may (probably will) be better.

Red face

Most times I tried using anything like that all that happens is they just get pulled out from under the tire in what direction they are going .

I have used a Hi-Lift jack to extract myself in the past

The key to the floor mats is slow as you go, spinning the tires usually turns theme into a projectile.
